Not my first time to dine at Ajisen Ramen, I personally found it great. One of the Japanese eateries that offered better value during lunch or dinner, I came with my boyfriend often. Menu looked complicated but in fact not at all, it was actually saying Ramen Set was available. With a complimentary drink, the price was different depends on what main course ordered. This particular course existed only at certain outlets, I just realized that Menu was not the same for all. Savoury soup with fresh and huge fish, it satisfied my taste bud absolutely. Sour spicy to the max, noodles were well-cooked too. The price for my set was $14.90, never regret. My side dish came along, crispy skin with tender flesh. Lettuce as dressing at bottom, it was best eaten with Mayonnaise or light Soy Sauce. Refreshing drink was included, it completed my set. My boyfriend ordered dried version, quite ugly in appearance but good taste indeed. Flavourful sauce added soul to the noodles, entire was delicious with right amount of saltiness. Chicken and egg were marinated perfectly, veggies put aside to reduce greasiness. $13.90 for the set, portion was small. Four pieces of chicken were crunchy and nothing much special, hot while it served. Talking about the service, having to say it was quite prompt. Ramen lover might like the place, just give it a try if had never visit Ajisen before. continue reading

I remember ajisen ramen was the first ever ramen restaurant I have visited and their Tom yum seafood ramen was my first bowl of ramen (as recommended by my friend). up till today, I still visit ajisen ramen and Tom yum seafood ramen is my one and only choice whenever I'm here (except for once where I ordered cha shu ramen and I don't like!!). hahaha I really like how the soup base taste, sour and spicy at the same time! I also like that they add generous amount of seafood like prawns, squids and crab sticks to the ramen. But I have to admit sometimes their standards do drop (soup base not up to standard or the seafood they used wasn't that fresh). However, I think I will still continue to visit ajisen ramen for their Tom yum seafood ramen (I don't think other ramen restaurant sell this). I will always go for their ramen set as it is much worth it (can choose one side dish and a drink of either lemon/green tea). The side dish I will always choose is white fish!! It's crispy on the outside but the fish meat was juicy and tender on the inside!! It is really nice and I highly recommend this My friend on the other hand ordered their tonkutsu ramen (his one and only choice too) which is not too bad too!! The soup base has very strong meat flavor of pork ribs which makes the soup very sweet and fragrant. He ordered gyoza for his side dish which is not nice at all! Do not order this if you were to dine at Ajisen! Anyway, the meal was quite worth it as each set cost only $15-$16 plus each! continue reading

Ajisen has this set menu that is quite worth it. A bowl of ramen and a side really is enough to fill up anyone's stomach. Tried the prok ramen and for the side, tried the white fish. The pork ramen was okay; the soup base was good but felt that the pork was a little too fatty with very little meat. However, the white fish is really very good!! The fish is smooth and crispy on the outside. The fish comes with a sweet chilli sauce and it really goes well with the fish. continue reading

I ordered the spicy cha-shu ramen at $10, i did not buy their set meal which you just have to add another $3.90 for a drink and a side. The ramen as okay, slightly bouncy when chewed. The soup base was spicy as expected but it was a tad salty, it could be due to too much of MSG added. The cha-shu was cooked just nice, i wouldnt it was exceptionally nice but was passable. Other than the cha-shu, other ingredients were normal but i would say it was a pleasing meal. The server who attended to us was really nice and cheerful even though we gave her a lot of troubles. continue reading
