It has been over 12 years since I last had the duck rice from Shan Duck Rice. I specially went to Tiong Bahru just so to have this duck rice which I ate frequently when I was younger. Of course the price as increased slightly but its still a reasonable price of $3.00. What amazed me was how the taste was exactly as I remembered. I'm not too sure what the rice was cooked with, but it has a slight herbal-like taste. The duck meat was moist and it goes perfectly with the sauce. I do not like herbal

I do not like herbal food but the soup, which has a strong herbal taste is irresistible.

Overall, it was definitely worth the special trip and all the walk to look for it. I highly recommend it and during this trip, I brought a friend along who was having it for the first time and she liked it too
