It was my first time at Popeyes on a weekday for dinner hoping that there won't be much crowd. True enough, it wasn't very crowded and I was in for a rude shock on my first experience with Popeyes.

The service staff taking the orders at the counter was very rude as she was talking to the other staffs while taking my orders. She wasn't giving me the full attention and kept on asking me to repeat my orders to her time and again.

After taking the orders at the counter, she told me to wait for my calamri and drumlets as she will serve me later on while I collected my drinks, fried chicken, biscuits and coleslaw to my table.

I started off trying the biscuit as I've heard a lot of ravings over it. I was very disappointed by it as I picked it up lightly, it cracked into crumbs and fell off my fingers. It was soft and soggy... not as what I've expected. It tasted so so like those butter cookies found in supermarket stores.

The fried chicken was horrible too. It was over cooked and the meat was dry and tough in it. There were lots of flour to make the chicken bigger but it turns out to be a 2 tiny piece of fried chicken. KFC could have easily been much better than this.

Then the coleslaw, it was average. I think the most edible food I had for the night. Nothing fantastic as it's just vegetables with sweet dressing. Nothing can go wrong with adding lots of sugar for flavouring although I prefer a more healthier style of preparing it.

After all these trying of the food, it's already past 10minutes and my drumlets and calamari rings still wasn't being served. I went to the staff counter and to my rude horror, the food was left there and the staffs just kept on chatting and talking to each other and even have to ask me what I wanted. It was only 10minutes and she have forgotten what I've ordered. There wasn't any crowd at all and I was really very very angry with such a poor service attitude.

I mentioned I was here to pick up my drumlets and calamari and she simply shoved the tray to me.

By the time I tried the drumlets, it tasted cold, tough and tasteless. and that chili sauce next to it was very spicy which didn't go well with the chicken at all. instead, one can simply choke on the spiciness of the chili sauce.

The calamari was very pathetic. It seems to me that it's leftovers or the staff have taken a quick snack on it. There were only few bits and pieces of it on a paper tray served in. It very cold, tough and hard. I tasted one and didn't want the rest anymore.

After this horrible experience, I wrote an email to the management giving my comments and feedback of my dining experience and till today, I've not heard anything from them yet.

I hope they will do something to their food and provide proper service orientated training to their staffs. Till then, I will never return to Popeyes again.
