Located at the basement of the Cathay, this shop reminds me of the "subway" of sushi- where you can customize and choose the ingredients of your sushi roll. Located at the basement of the Cathay, this shop reminds me of the "subway" of sushi- where you can customize and choose the ingredients of your sushi roll. We zoomed into ordering a mega San ($9.90) which promises a wrap sushi with 5 ingredients, 1 special, 1 sprinkle and 1 house sauce. Customizing your sushi is fun here and we had a lot of did imagining our desired sushi- unfortunately the roll we choose came out a little confused. We had roasted mushroom, japanese omelette, avocado, to book and tempura enoki mushroom mashed in yuzu honey vinaigrette. Sounds tasty on paper, but the combined effect was really mis mash- the flavours stood out individually but did not gel well together. I would recommend getting their tempura items- such as soft shell crab- as it is deep fried fresh on the spot. It was one of theore distinct ingredients that tasted good. I would stay away from the turkey bacon bits, as it contributed to a smoky taste that I didn't quite enjoy in my sushi roll. All in all, it was a self service, where you get too pick and choose a plethora of ingredients, but the end product may not be as tasty as it seems on paper!
