Eating dinner at Foodcourt nearby my house, we try out stall newly opened at Food Gourmet. You may be surprised to know that the Hor Fun’s recipe was actually come from Ipoh, Malaysia. I queued at the counter, after paying money for the food, the staff gave me a number plate, and I sat down and wait for my food to come. It was semi self-service basis.I ordered Ipoh Hor Fun with dumplings, it came along with soup of the day. A bit disappointed seriously, the gravy was too sticky. Also the dumplings were too salty. It was slightly expensive for me, costed $4.80 per plate. If let say next time I still have the chance to come over here again, I want try their fried dumplings instead of in soup. continue reading

The Ipoh hor fun here is not bad. The noodles are very soft and smooth and the sauce is pretty tasty. Comes with two prawns which are nice and fresh. The price is reasonable too with the portion of noodles costing about four dollars and eighty cents. Overall pretty good for a food court dish better than what I expected. Nothing to complain about but nothing to shout about either continue reading

The Ipoh hor fun here is quite big in portion and the ingredients in it are also quite generous. The hor fun, which is also known as the broader and flaten version of the rice noodes, is very smooth and really easy to chew and swallow in. The seafood items in it are also quite many which includes medium sized prawns, sliced sotong and sliced fish. Other basic ingredients such as the chye sim, beaten eggs, fish cakes and sliced carrots can be found in it as well. Especially like to eat the sotong which is really chewy and fresh. If like to have more vegetables, do not be shy and request from the stall owner and he will be very willing to assist your request accordingly. continue reading

The set meal of clayfish hor fun with prawns comes with soup with 2 pieces of dumplings and a choice of drink at $6.80 is a very very good deal.It comes in a big white plate with thin hor fun,3 pieces of small crayfish and deboned prawns and vegetables in nice brown sauces. The soup is very rich in stock and tasty and the dumplings equally good. The home made brew barley is the best i ever had as it's thick, fragant, not too sweet and i think maybe they use pandan leaves and rock sugar to boil. continue reading
