Introduction
<BR>In 1979, Mr. Thian Boon Hua started a small stall in Chinatown serving Cantonese chicken rice. Building upon the popularity of his silky white sauce chicken rice and emphasis on quality service, he rallied his family members to establish Boon Tong Kee’s first restaurant at Balestier Road in 1983. The company diversified its operations in 1999 to include "Zi Char" (home-style cooked food) and eateries. From the traditional Balestier Road outlet to the upscale River Valley branch, Boon Tong Kee has enthralled Singaporeans and tourists alike with its delectable food and friendly staff. continue reading

continue reading

continue reading

It is not my first time to dine here, but the waiting time this time is a bit longer may be because of the SG50 long weekend. We ordered meat ball soup, soya sauce with silver sprout, crispy bean curd, chicken rice with thigh and breast.I would not recommend the meat ball soup, the meat ball does not had any taste at all....The soya sauce with silver sprout is actually not bad but nothing really special. Crispy bean curd tast good while it is hot. It is crispy outside and very soft inside. I would suggest to finish it while it is hot. We left a few in the bowl, the crispy skin became soft in the middle of our dinner.I keep thinking the chicken rice was better last time. It is actually not bad, but the rice is rough and can taste different softness when chewing. My chicken thigh is ok, but my friend's chick breast is too rough...So, I would summarise this as an usual dinner, not much surprise you would be able to find. continue reading

i went there with my family members, it was pretty crowded. i had their famous chicken rice and it was shaped in a little mountain! it was so unique!next we had their famous white chicken. i didn't try the roasted chicken though. i am not a big fan of it. it was really smooth and yums!we ordered the fried toufu as well, i must say this is really a good dish! it was crispy on the outside but so tender on the inside. one of the must=try on the menu.lastly we ordered their abalone which was pretty good too, with abalone, scallop and all the goodies, it is on the expensive side though, but good to try! continue reading
