See my full reviews & photos at = http://chefquak.com/2015/09/16/great-lunch-kopi-roti-central-on-19sep2015/went to my good friend’s dental clinic at central on 16.9.2015.after that god-sis led the 3 of us to kopi roti central for lunch. ^^god-sis went to get the food. i had the chicken rendang. it came with sayur lodeh & egg, for S$5.it was a very good meal!rendang was very good & reasonable helping size. both the egg & sayur also good. $5 is not cheaper nor more expensive than say a economic rice at coffeeshop. important thing is that it was tasty, a very nice wholesome & balanced meal for S$5.my dental surgeon friend had the curry chicken. looked great too!god-sis had the nasi lemak. came with chicken wing, egg, nuts & ikan bilis & otah.i think the price of the curry chicken was also S$5, and likely the nasi lemak too.there was laksa, but from the wall photo it didn’t appear to come with cockles.i will try some of these dishes next time. i would say for S$5 it was as good as my favourite adam road nasi lemak (adam’s nasi lemak & selara rasa nasi lemak) kind of meal! ^^ continue reading

We are walking around the basement of The Central during lunch time. Everywhere was quite packed and we decided to just have our lunch at Kopi Roti since a table was vacated just as we are walking towards that direction. The menu is rather simple and I just ordered the crispy cutlet chicken rice which comes with baked beans and a side cabbage mayo salad. The presentation of the dish looks quite good but like the previous reviewer mentioned, the portion of chicken meat is very little. Much of the chicken culet was the fried batter and not the chicken meat. The cabbage was also doused with too much mayo which makes it rather jialat instead of refreshing. The saving grace is the rice as I think its quite fragrant and soft. continue reading

For dinner on a Friday evening recently, I headed to Kopi Roti Central. It was my first time there and I didn't quite know what to order so I settled for the Crispy Chicken Rice set which looked really good. When the food first arrived, it looked really appetizing and the smell was making my mouth water. However, I was disappointed with the food though. The chicken was very crispy and juicy but there was too much skin on it Also, the rice was too dry.The vege served however was delicious and it went well when eaten with the chicken.Overall, the food was of an average standard.Could possibly try this shop again but will try other dishes instead! continue reading

A small coffeshop located at the basement serves local food like bau, toasted bread, curry rice, fried bee hoon, laksa etc..A plate of plain fried bee hoon at $1.30 was surprisingly tasty. They fried it simply with bean spouts and the bean spouts are crunchy and not overcooked. However, the coffee are not strong enough for my liking but i do notice some people drinking teh tarik from this stall. So for those who like tea, maybe you can try their teh tarik at $1.50. continue reading
