One of my friend lives in Woodland had recommend me to try the seafood soup. She told me weekends are always crowded of people so I choose a weekday to try. Price:-Crayfish Seafood Soup- $10Rice- $0.50( only rice is available) No other noodles etc.Crayfish is abit small but the portion of seafood(fish) for the price is a lot. The seafood are fresh. Soup given is abit less. I would say it is tasty but abit salty to me. Conclusion: Will I go back again? Ys...unless I am around that area won't be travel all the way to eat this seafood soup. continue reading

During 20 years ago, my parents brought me to this Wei Wei Shi Pin seafood soup stall in Woodlands Hawker Centre and it was crowded with diners queueing up. 20 years later, the queue was not as much and I wonder why.I had order their famous seafood soup. The cost was $5.50 without rice. I was shocked at this pricing for such a small bowl of seafood soup. The seafood soup came piping hot and had an aroma of prawns. The soup tasted very flavourful, they must have used many pork bones and fish bones to boil the soup. The minced pork was very nice tasting, I could taste they added many fatty pork and fried fish. The fish seem to be marinated with baking soda, the meat was slippery and mashy went eaten. The prawns were fresh, sweet and springy.Overall, the seafood soup was very good, but not for the price. continue reading

Hidden gems in Woodlands Centre! On a weekend, you have to wait for 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the time you reach. They open at 11am !There are 2 options for you to choose: crayfish soup or seafood soup!I ordered their seafood soup which has 2 large prawns, fish (pomfret), minced meat balls and tomato! The broth were rich and flavorful ! And the prawns were sweet too YUMMY~I hope they will give more soup to their customers though. continue reading

Decided to patronise this stall after the Channel 8 tv programme recommended this stall. I went on a sunday afternoon and there was a long long queue about more than 10 people that is in front of me. When it was my turn to order, the crayfish soup was out of stock and in the end had to order the seafood soup instead. It took me approximately more than 1 HOUR until the seafood soup has been served. Originally the seafood soup consist of fish, prawn and the minced meat, however for the few customer before me, the fish has already been sold out and the ingredients left are only prawn and the minced meat. For the soup wise, it is full of flavours, sweet and has a aromatic flavour of maybe scallop, prawn and certain seafood. The soup itself goes very well with the rice. The prawn is big and fresh, has a soft and tender texture. Next the minced meat also has a soft and tender texture and the meat is also quite juicy as it absorb some of the soup. Overall, quite a unique taste of this bowl of seafood soup. Price wise starts from $5.50 onwards. continue reading

My whole family have been patronising this seafood food soup stall for many years, for its seafood soup. Best ever! It's a wonder that I still get to be the "First to Review". Probably its location at Woodlands Centre dampens its popularity. The hawker centre here isn't very hot, hence I would strongly recommend for anyone to savour this delicious dish "on the spot"! (Takeaway always looks "lesser" to me) Do avoid lunch time as the waiting time can be more than an hour! No kidding! Best time to visit: Weekends at 11am (opening time!)Back to the main topic, though its pig trotters are equally popular, I'd swear by the seafood soup. You can choose between "normal" fish, promfret or crayfish. Of course, the pricing increases from left to right. I'd always go for the "normal" fish since I get more "meat" compared to the others and ask for more minced pork instead of prawns. The soup base is awesome! I can't never get enough of it but can't refill it as they make it per serving. So, it's not like a big container of ready-made soup. And when it comes to the minced pork, it's insane! There's probably cuttlefish mixed with it and every bite just leaves me craving for more! The pieces of fish meat are equally tender and altogether, this dish SWELLS!!!!!!!!! I can't find any other way to describe the tastiness of this dish. So, try it yourself and let me know below whether you feel the same way as I do! Seafood Soup ("normal" fish) - $7 continue reading
