Some hawker food delights!1. The very long queue wet wet hokkien mee – It’s fried wet enough and the noodles were slim, the way I like it. It would be perfect if the prawns were bigger and fresher. Picky me! I’m not a chilli lover but the chilli looked good to me even though I didn't taste it. Overally a pretty hot plate of hokkien mee and kind of flavourful. I like that it's cooked till very wet. Delicious! The mee is soft and the beehoon is very slim.2. The long queue BBQ wings that everyone’s buying BECAUSE CHICKEN WINGS ARE SO TASTY AND HANDY TO EAT! Squeeze some lime to totally get the best feel of the chicken wing.3. The forever super long queue rojak ex-president SR Nathan ate before – It’s a overwhelming plate of rojak with a whole lot of sauce. The sauce had a special tinge of freshness that’s not commonly tasted. The chilli companion went well with the sauce too. Nothing special about the ingredients used – the usual ones just like any other rojaks.4. The short queue xiao long bao dim sum that’s oh so juicy. Many more stalls I've yet to try!http://phuachiuyen.wordpress.com/2012/09/22/whampoa-hawker-blk-90-whampoa/ continue reading

This barberqued chicken wing stall is one of the popular stall in this food center.  We no fail you will always be able to see long queue outside this stall during meals' hours.  THe auntie staff here is very friendly and approachable, and the stall is quite clean and neat.  Most important is whenever you passby this stall, you will be able to smell the fragrant barbequed chicken wings which are in the process of cooking over the grill.  FFor merely $1.20 per piece, it is priced very reasonbly.  Love the chicken meat inside which is very tender and juicy.  As for the outer layer, is super fragrant and not too oily barberqued chicken skin that will be able to win your heart with its excellent taste.  With a little bit of their chillli sauce will even enhance the taste of this simple snack. continue reading

This never fails to be featured dish when a group makes a trip down to any hawker centres in Singapore. We had this to share among the three of us. With a minimum order of two pieces, each comes at S$1.20.The chicken wings were well marinated and beautifully barbecued with a golden-brown tan to the surface. Expect the honey-glazed chicken wings to be slightly sweet while the meat retained its moisture with the right amount of juiciness. Have your table number handy before placing order at the stall as a queue is more than likely due to the limited number of barbecued chicken wings stalls at Whampoa Makan Place. It will be served to your table though there is minimal service to expect. continue reading

Ordered Barbecued Chicken Wings at Whampoa Market which is a hawker centre that sells wide varieties of local delicacies. The barbecued chicken wings taste really delicious as they were juicy and well marinated. The taste of the barbecued chicken wings were further enhanced when dipped with the handmade sweet and sour chilli sauce. The barbecued chicken wings were well cooked and the meat was really tender. The barbecued chicken wing was pretty affordable as each costs about $1.20. continue reading

If you are well equipped in whampoa.. you will find yourself tasting many stalls with hokkien mee fried oyster.. deep fried carrot cake and the list goes on and on.This is the only bbq chicken wing stall that i can actually find here in whampoa... hmm.... mmmm the result... very naise... very naise...It has a very high volume of customers during sunday nights so expect to wait around half an hour... It will be served with chili and a slide of lime... 1 chicken wing costs around $1.20. This stall also serve crabs and cockles but unfortunately i do not know the exact price for it. The taste of the chicken wing tastes really juicy and it is spicy when dipped with chili and the lime brings out the lime in the chicken.. i cant describe it... Its so wise... like a old old wooden ship named diversity... The service is fantastic but you have to bring the cash to the stall as payment is made up front. This stall opens at night only from early evening to around late night...Thats all for now! You stay classy OpenRicers! continue reading
