Hot Smoked Salmon, $15
Since it’s more than just a coffee shop, Oriole Cafe also aims to boost their menu by adding new dishes to the list. I started out with two appetisers: the Arancini($10) which is crispy fried porcini mushroom, risotto balls, and gorgonzola dip. This is a good way to get the ball rolling as it is a very light yet tasty dish that would leave your palate wanting for more. The other dish, the Hot Smoked Salmon ($15) made from peppercorn crusted smoky salmon with potatoes, fine beans, and boiled egg in dill mustard dressing, also has the same effect on your appetite.

Jamaican Jerk Chicken, $19
Next up were the three main courses, which came all together. The Jamaican Jerk Chicken ($19) looked the most appetizing so I gave it a go. The deboned chicken was marinated very well in their special sauce, and you’d get a distinct taste of the fresh herbs used. The Squid Ink Taglioni and Lobster ($24) sounded yummy, but the taste didn’t really reach my expectations. The fishy taste was just too strong for me that it just overpowered the other ingredients in the dish. The Moroccan Fish Tagine ($27)really had a very soft meat that just seemed to crumble in your mouth on first bite, and it was very well complemented by the curry-like sauce.
The desserts part was exciting for me as Oriole Cafe served Pistachio, Almond and Semolina Cake. ($9) This, too, was yummy for me as I like my dessert not to be overly sweet. The Vanilla and Pear ($7)had a strong red wine taste, but it was all good.
