Since Chinese New Year was coming soon, I bought another Mini Peanut Puff from Tai Thong Cake Shop in Chinatown. Mini Peanut Puff from Tai Thong Cake Shop cost slightly more than others, it cost $20 per box! When I opened the box, I could smell the deep fried pastry aroma, it was not oily. Mini Peanut Puff from Tai Thong Cake Shop cost slightly more than others, it cost $20 per box!

When I opened the box, I could smell the deep fried pastry aroma, it was not oily. The Mini Peanut Puff was nicely deep fried and had a golden brown color.

I liked the taste of the Mini Peanut Puff, the crispy skin was not powdery and the skin thickness was just right. The filling  had the right amount of sugar and roasted peanuts. My palate did not feel dry or sweeten after eating several Mini Peanut Puffs.

Overall, I think this bakery has the best Mini Peanut Puff, though the prices are slightly higher, it was still worth to buy.

I went with my mom to Chinatown to eat and explore the area as my mom hasn't been there for a long time already! Anyway, we walk past by this confectionery and my mom suddenly recalls back the long queue each time for the moon cakes at this shop in the past! My grandmother would make her and my aunts/uncles to take turn and queue! Anyway, we bought their Salty tau sar piah and Almond cookies. The salty filling in these tau sar piah isn't the one that I particularly like but rather it is a salty green bean filling. The almond cookies are fragrant and crispy but subsequent bites it began to taste rather normal. I guess their signature is their mooncakes and I will be back during the Mid-Autumn festival!

I used to buy these piglets separately from the neighborhood bakery where these piglets are being cage up in the colorful pig cages. This is a 'die die must have' during my younger days mid Autumn festival. Having seen such a big pack of piglets, I was more than triumphed.
Cost: S$6.00

Although the outline of piglet was not clearly indicated, the fragrant of the small piece of piglet had already bought me away. Hard as it might look but it was gradually soften once you bite on them.

Yes, double Yolk Mooncake again as it marks the traditional Cantonese Mooncake. The crust was thicker as compared to Da Zhong Guo, however the lotus paste is more fragrant. Yums!
Cost: S$10.50

The stall uncle was friendly and helpful and explain the items when I pointed out "what is it?".
Service was great too!
