I frequent this teochew porridge stall very often. The key is to come at the right time to avoid queuing up. Do not come too late too as most of the dishes would already sold out. I always come here in late morning when they just started. I strongly recommend their braised cabbage and braised meat to go with porridge. Their steamed fish and braised duck are quite good too. Their pricing is quite cheap. That must be the reason for them to have a group of regular customers.

If you come during the wrong hour then you might ended up queuing up for as long as 30 minutes to a hour to eat this. The best timing is always in the late morning at about 11.30 am. Some of the nice side dishes to take note would be braised minced meat in bean sauce and braised cabbage. The braised duck is another must try. All dishes go well with the white porridge.

Although the stall is known as Economic Mixed Vegetables Rice, they sell more teochew porridge style food. If you are around Ang Mo Kio Teck Ghee Court, do give the teochew porridge a try. If you reach during lunch or dinner time, you have to wait quite a while. My fav dish is the braised meat as it is not over cooked and the meat is very tender. The mince meat with fermented beans is another fav. I will always order 2 bowl of porridge as the food is very nice.

It was a raining afternoon and we wanted something warm and i thought of this teochew porridge. I was there at about 11.45 am when they just opened. This is the place to come if you would like to have a taste of homecooked economic vegetable rice.I like the economic vegetable rice here,most of the dishes here are nice and taste healthy, not too oily or salty,suitable for everyone.My favourite dish is their pork chop, fish fillet, cabbage and curry chicken.Price is right and portion is big too.
