Prawn Noodles ($3), not that good. The prawn was not very fresh as the shell was sticking to the meat a little. One good thing about this is that there were quite a lot of vegetables inside (kangkong and bean sprouts). Oh! Another good thing about this is that the fish cakes were quite thick and there were more than 3 pieces! I think i was given more as the owner seems to know my parents now. haha! The soup broth was a little salty and didn't have the nice and strong prawn taste which i prefer )

Maybe i should stick to the bak chor mee the next time if I'm going back there to have breakfasts with my parent's friends. haha!

Eating at a coffee shop always brings me back to the younger days where uncles would gather at a table, drinking their coffees and talking at the loudest volume ever imaginable in their hokkien language whilst the drinks stall auntie would shout out random words from a mile away to take people's orders. My family and I went to this coffee shop situated near out house which my parents seem to frequent with their friends. Surrounded my HDB flats, this was a place to meet for a quick chit chat with your neighbours.
We were there went the place was very packed and diners with sleepy children were waiting around for their food and there was surprisingly a long relatively long queue at this stall!

I tried the bak chor mee for $3 and I must say it is very flavourful. One could taste the nice-smelling sinful pork oil in your mouth as the individual gulps down mouth after mouth of mee. The fishball was a little salty though, but since it's not really the main ingredient, it shall be forgiven. The soup was laden with MSG which makes you want to drink it but know you should't. I love the combination of tomato ketchup and chilli with the springy noodles and the meat was not tough which makes it pretty good.

Overall, I think that this place would be a nice place to dine with your friends and neighbours but i don't see myself travelling all the way from a far as the food is not extremely superb.

Sin Tong Hong Eating House is a typical coffeeshop located within an HDB estate. I came here for brunch before going to the airport for a holiday. I tried the Fishball Mee Sua ($2.50). This stall also sells bak chor mee and prawn mee. Considering the price of the fishball noodles and the size of the fishballs, this bowl of noodles is considered cheap. However, it was rather bland and the fishballs were a little salty. Other than a piece of lettuce, there was nothing else in the soup. A mediocre
