I could eat Lao Ban's smooth soymilk jelly all day, everyday. Lighter than the traditional soyabean curd that has to be eaten hot or warm to best appreciate its texture, Lao Ban's chilled soymilk jelly is easier on the palate in sunny hot Singapore. I like its soft silky texture and how smoothly it glides down my throat. Even a toothless geriatric or a baby weaning off the milk bottle can swallow it. My favourite version still comes from Stall No 51 at Old Airport Road Hawker Centre, a few doors away from Lao Ban's first outlet as it is just a little less sweet. Same silky texture and comforting creamy melt-in-the-mouth texture for both stalls. Lao Ban's version is a wee bit sweeter than 'Stall 51' so it may well be preferred by the majority. Anyway this new Lao Ban outlet is super convenient so I will be getting my tau huay fix here when I'm not going to Old Airport Road for the satay and hae mee.…查看更多

Heard of Lao ban soya bean curd ? To many, this is what we think of when having beancurd. The new modern type of beancurd. As written, it is original and almond from old Changi airport, then to many different outlet at Clemeti and now spotted at raffles place while I went back to my previous office to look for previous collage and shop around. I brought the original and enjoy it. It served cold even i walked around the raffles before consuming it on the hot day and it was made nicely , smooth and just yummy in taste, just sweet enough for me. It was so easy to eat and the service is nice as I can't remember the price and Iask the uncle the price. he told mei it was just $1.50 . oh only have all $10 note with me so to search fox coin in smaller value but realize not enough coin and end up still using the $10 to pay. The uncle was patient, friendly and smiling although there still people wanting to buy the beancurd. The overall environment is clean as it s situated near escalator at Uob center. I brought it up to eat at the chair nearby. The price is worth to eat especially for office people nearby during tea time and doing down on a hot weather after lunch.…查看更多

:) :) :)Didn't know there is one outlet at Raffles Place Basement, until my fren bought me there to show me.Yes, the shop is abit hard to find if you are first time there.It is hidden at one side of the building at basement.But if you can't find it , just look for the long Q.Yes, Lao Ban Beancurd is still the best in town.Texture is smooth and soft.It really melt in your mouth once the beancurd is inside.Cost for the orginal is $1.50 and the almond favour is $2.00.Still the orginal taste the best for me.Service is fast.:) :) :)…查看更多

First time trying this Soya Beancurd, I found it very good. The texture is smooth and silky, it seems to melt in my mouth and it would slide down the throat once it enters your mouth. It has a really unique taste that could not be found in any of the soya beancurd sold elsewhere. The taste was special, not overly sweet and I can even tasted the taste of soya bean milk. This is lao ban's third branch within a year at CBD area. You may think the craze could have died off but the queue is still snaking at Raffles Place branch. It makes you wonder whether all these people no need to work?Lao Ban has also introduced call and pick up service. So a lot of people working around the area will call first for bunk orders and pick up later.The lao ban's beancurd at raffles place has the same consistency as the airport branch. I queue for around 15 minutes to get this at about 5pm. This beancurd is special from the normal kind, as they don't add the syrup inside or anything, but it is just the beancurd itself. Therefore there is no need to be scared if it is too sweet or not. I find the taste of the beancurd is perfect! Thanks to my brother who took bowls of these goodies home from the branch at Raffles City, I finally had the chance to try the much raved about beancurd from Lao Ban. The original flavour costs $1.50 while the almond flavour costs $2. My brother got the original flavoured beancurd for us. The beancurd is really smooth as you cut into the beancurd, there are no "creases" at all. Upon putting it in my mouth, wow. It literally melts and I could taste the malty flavour of the beancurd. Decided to give it a try as I heard that the beancurd is super nice. My honest feedback after trying: I don't think it is worth queueing for the soya beancurd. It taste good but not the best beancurd which I have ever tried. In fact, I think there are a few stores which sell soya beancurd which tastes even better. This stall offer chilled beancurd which comes in 2 flavour, one being original and the other being almond. Personally, I preferred the almond flavoured to the orginal as I found it to be sweeter and have a stronger taste. Nonetheless the original flavoured is also good if you dislike almond. The beancurd is especially smooth like pudding and it can slide down your throat. There is always long queue for the beancurd and its supply run out fast. It is just boring to have lunch around Somerset, took a ride to raffles place for lunch. We saw this Lao ban soya bean curd at the B1 of OUB Centre. Takeaway back to office. It is worth a takeaway.
