$2.50 value for money wantan mee is soon becoming a rarity with inflated prices in the local dining scene. Yet at Jalan Batu Market, this hawker centre is home to the famous Tanjong Rhu Wantan Mee (there are 2 variations to this -the one originally at the coffee shop which has moved into the food centre, as well as the wantan mee stall pre-existing in the food centre!)$2.50 gets you this lovely, breakfast-portioned plate of springy noodles, charsiew, a decent amount of vegetables (i do consider this imperative in the dish as it provides contrast) as well as 3 small dumplings. These dumplings are compactly wrapped with tasty minced meat, in a clear soup floating with spring onions. The balance of flavours in this dish harmonises effortlessly with the right touch of savouriness and (if you do opt for it) chilli. if you're feeling hungry, id say go for the $3 portion! Yum.The aunty, incidentally, is also really friendly with the orders, so that's great news for us
