Capitol Roasted Rice • Noodle (已結業)

Hawker centre is always a good choice for affordable plus wide variety for a meal. Even though lack of air conditioning ( i sweat very EASILY ), it doesn't stop me from exploring my choices =)So for a recent lunch, i decide to try the 油鸡面 from this stall which i haven't try before. Turns out the noodles have a nice QQ texture. Chicken is nice but sliced a bit too thinly for my liking. Priced reasonably at $3.50, i be back to try out other dishes from this stall.

The meal I most looking forward was Lunch, it considered an important break for peoples working at office like us. There was long queue during lunch time. I was of course skeptical and decided to try it out. I have yet to find a Braised Duck Rice that I could have a craving for. I admit that the duck here was really enjoyable. Thinly sliced Duck Meat was moist, soft and the little sweet dark sauce was matched perfectly rice. Good reason enough for me to suffer a long queue to get it.

Ordered a take away of Roasted Pork & Char Siew rice for $3.00. It used to taste nicer but the standard seemed to drop a little this time. The serving of roasted pork and char siew was not as generous as before. Both the roasted pork and char siew tasted rather mediocre. I would prefer to have roasted pork chopped in a much bigger pieces and the char siew to taste a little less sweet.

What could be more enjoyable other than a simple packet of roasted meat & char siew rice for lunch?This is one of the regular stall that i go for roasted meat & char siew rice in Ang Mo Kio area. It might not be the best tasting but the standard of their roasted meat and char siew rice is rather passable. I am always in dilemma to decide between char siew and roasted meat, to overcome this and to have the best of both worlds, i always ended up choosing the char siew and roasted meat rice. This is my first visit to this stall thus with no expectation. What awaits was quite a pleasant surprise, both meats tasted rather good, well-marinated and tender. But, the skin of roasted meat lacked the crispiness that i like. I would not mind giving their soya sauce chicken and roasted duck a try next time.
