Established since 2008, A-ONE Claypot House meticulously crafted menu is a good balanced combination of soul foods, incorporated with the local palate, inspired by traditional cooking methods.
<br>Its mantra is that food should be consumed at the right temperature – and hence the use of traditional claypot cooking techniques which has good heat insulation. Central to the cooking are fresh ingredients - with great emphasis in attaining the natural flavours from the ingredients without using any preservatives. For the health conscious, claypot cooking uses less oil yet retains its natural flavours.

It always smells so good when I walk pass the outlet at Chinatown Point. The smell isn't as strong as nex. Came here for dinner on a weekend and there was no queue. When seated, we were served braised peanuts and given wet tissues. We told them we didn't need it as they were chargeable (and we really didn't need them). We ordered rice and three dishes to share among the four of us. The food was served promptly. I'm not sure if they really cook the food in claypot or simply use it as a serving vessel. Anyway, the sesame oil chicken was pretty yummy, but the other two dishes (premium claypot and spinach soup with meatball) are mediocre. I don't think they are worth the price we paid. You can get food as good or even better at regular tze char place. Wouldn't come here again unless I have vouchers.

Walking around and looking at other F&B outlets, my girlfriend and I decided to try the claypot dishes from AOne Claypot House. She ordered the 3 Flavours Egg Porridge which contains salted egg, century egg and egg. My apologies as I did not take any picture of that. The porridge tastes good and strongly of ginger. If you are one who dislikes the taste of ginger, then this is not for you. For me, it was Claypot noodles which look like what you will see on a normal zi char stall. The taste was alright and wasn't exactly something I will go back for. Which also might explain why I can't really remember the name of the dish too.
