for photos and more reviews, visit http://thelittlemomentsofmylife.blogspot.com/ (:we started off our meal with the meze tabagi ($21), which was an assorted platter of their cold appetizers: hummus, babakanus, saksuka, patlican salata, ezme, potato salad and dolma. i really liked the hummus, which is a middle eastern mashed chickpea and sesame oil dip. the best way i can describe it would be that it tasted like mashed papadum! haha. it was nice! and i also liked the reddish thing at the top left of the plate, i think it should be the saksuka, which is deep fried diced eggplant in tomato based sauce. babakanus is roasted eggplant with yogurt and garlic dip which was rather yummy too with its creamy texture (: the dolma is rice with traditional spices wrapped in vine leaves - this one was really cute and unfortunately there were only two pieces so we each only had a little bit! hmm come to think of it, i wonder whether the vine leaves were meant to be eaten? i just popped the entire thing into my mouth! lol! i felt that the others were not as exciting in comparison.the best part was that it came with this wonderfully ginormous lavash bread, which is kinda like a flat bread that is expanded to this side (inside is all air such that when you pluck of a bit, the whole thing just deflates) and it is piping hot inside!! ooh lovely. i really love all these turkish breads xDthe tavuk sis ($17) was grilled chicken chunks on a skewer (its completely obscured by the pilaf rice and veggies in the picture). it had a lovely smokey chargrilled flavour that was delicious. and i loved the rice for the exotic spices and the vegetables had an interesting sauce on it too (which i was unable to pinpoint).the salmon steak ($18) was probably the least-turkish dish which we had. it was chargrilled and topped with a homemade sauce, but perhaps because there was very little sauce, it just tasted like salmon steak we could eat anywhere else.i have to say this again. I LOVE TURKISH BREAD. really i do. i loved the sucuklu pide ($16) which was a turkish pizza stuffed with traditional turkish sundried salami and cheese. omgosh it was absolutely lovelyyyyy! the bread had a nice soft texture and i just loved the blend of cheese, egg and salami. lastly, we had the tavuk sote ($16) which was a casserole style chicken dish with mushrooms and onions. and i can't believe this, but i forgot to take a photo of it!!!!!! WAHHHHHHHHHHHH OMG. unbelievable. i only realised this after the food was all gone!!! boohoo cos there was some sort of commotion because they served us the wrong dish and after that i kinda forgot about taking a photo. argh. it was quite a nice dish, with a lovely tomato-based sauce. 繼續閱讀

Full review and pictures at: http://rygohxx.blogspot.sg/2013/06/alaturka-restaurant-turkish-and.htmlAlaturka Restaurant ensconced humbly at the Bussorah Street may sound foreign to most Singaporeans. It is a halal restaurant that serves authentic Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. The menu consists of a wide variety of authentic Turkish cuisine ranging from appertisers to main courses and desserts. As for their drinks, I would highly recommend their homemade lemonade - a great combination of sweet and sour taste. Refreshing!Kunefe $9 If you haven't tried the Kunefe from Alaturka restaurant on Bussorah Street, you are totally in for a treat. Kunefe - Fine vermicelli-like pastry dessert served warm and baked with cheese and sugar syrup. The aroma alone just simply makes my mouth water, as I indulge and try this luscious dessert, I know that my love affair with this delicious treat will be forever! No kidding. Imam Bayildi $15Ever seen such a huge eggplant? Believe or not, this is my first time. I personally find this dish pretty interesting and decided to 'Google' it and indeed there's a rich story behind this dish. Imam Bayildi refers to "The imam fainted". It is said that an imam (Muslim priest) find the dish so special that after tasted it, he actually fainted. A story that is repeatedly spread across Turkey. 繼續閱讀

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants. 2 Thumbs up for the delicious food and excellent service. It is a cosy place, with nice decoration. I like the lavash with the dip platter, falafels, the grilled meats served with rice and vegetables. A turkish coffee and tea is the best way to end the delicious meal. Will keep going back and recommending it to my friends. 繼續閱讀

Another Family Outing. This time to a turkish restaurant. we were waiting about an hour to get a table. That's show how good is the Business. There were like so many dishes to choose. We ordered quite a few dish. i don really remember the names as it was in turkish.1. Garlic Bread- it's looks like pizza to me. Cos it's circle and small. just that the topping is garlic. the bread was soft and really chewy, 2.Spring roll- it's the longer version and stuff with cheese. it was really really delicious! 3. Lamb and cheese pizza- the bread was in a shape of oval, topping with small pieces of lamb and serve with salad.4. Mixture of Lamb, chicken and beef- all the meats were well-cooked and seasoned with spices. tasted really good5. Mint Tea- tasted more like a iced- lemon tea. but this has a strong taste of the mint6. Bread wrapped with lamb- the bread was tasted really good. When u dipped it in with the sauce. WOW! fdelicious!!!!!7. main course dish - serves with few pieces of lamb, vegetable and rice. the lamb with the gravy is so good. when u eat it with the rice, the thick gravy the lamb and the vegetables...hmmmm wonderful combination8. rice with chicken- the chicken is like in a skewer. they grilled the chicken with spices. Basically all the middle-eastern dishes are grilled. they don really fry that much..9. the kunefe was such a light yet sinful dessert. its vermicili that is fried to a crisp on the outside but soft on the inside coated with sugar water.... and served in a pool of warm milk and chopped pistachios... when i put this heavenly dish in my mouth, i did not have any words for it.... i simply went, "mmmmm" and somemore mmmmm.... mmmm and mmmmmmm..... it was like a food orgasm in my mouth...I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK FOR MORE 繼續閱讀

We started our meal with salty yoghurt drink. It's not to our taste though. We had to wait for about 20 minutes before our dishes arrived. The beef stew with mashed brinjal was unique, it tastes good with the plain bread, the portion is big, it can be shared by 3-4 people as it will be too much for 1 person to finish the whole plate. The mutton and beef balls served with vegetables in hot plate are not liked by me, as I personally do not like minced meat. The rice that came with the chicken skewer were great, it tasted very buttery and delicious. This place is very crowded in the evening, it is well-liked by the Europeans. 繼續閱讀
