Stepped right in to enjoy the fragrant & the tasty Herbal Kuay Chap...This stall had been here for many years. The one next to it had been changed more than 4 times! This showed the popularity & the quality of the food served must have been very good in order for it to stayed for so long.I know it was a very popular Duck Rice chained stall. I know it was a very popular Duck Rice chained stall. However, it was the Herbal Kuay Chap that had attracted me here again & again. The first time I was here because I was feeling weak & wanted to boost up my health with some herbal soup.
I was very surprised of the quality of the ingredients served here. For the price of only $3.80...
The chunky pieces of Braised Pork were chewy & the fat was not "gerlat"...
The Pig Skin (pure collagen...) tasted springy & flavourful & was very clean (not a hair in sight)...
The taupok was not soggy & was completely soaked with the herbal fragrance thick sauce...
The texture of the egg yolk was just nice, not dry & powdery...
The pieces of braised intestine was soft & was thouroughly cleaned of any foul taste...
The big fish cake pieces were chewy & springy...
Another worth mentioning was the chilli...the bright orangy-red one had a little lime taste while the dark red one was the powerhouse...
My favorite way of enjoying it was to have both in the same sauce plate.
I never failed to come here as often as I could when I feel like some herbal soup infusing.
