Had one of my dinner at Burger Bench & Bar. They had quite a few selections for gourmet burgers. Personally i liked the Saute Mixed Mushroom Beef Burger. The Beef patty is quite juicy. Remember to top up $1 for the chips / fries. I like the chips. They are home made and very crispy. In addition, when you are there, you can order their ice cream. It is delicious. The ice cream is a dark choc soft serve and flavorful.

What Bergs Gourmet Burgers failed to deliver, Burger Bench and Bar in a more convenient location and cheaper prices did it all. Even the latter's benches are way more stylish than the former's. I could think of many B's to describe it: Best, Burgers, Beer, Bewildered... I've tried almost all burgers here and I must say there's hardly one that disappoints. Well, just that one. The fish one was pretty bland and that's it. My favourite would be the sauted mixed mushroom beef burger! Accompanied by relish (as for the rest of B3's burgers), a generously coated with mayo and served with thick juicy patty. Top up the meal with handcooked chips and a drink (better, a beer) and you are in heaven. No, wait a moment, to attain the heavenly feel after a great meal, you'll first have to try the gourmet soft serve ice cream. Unlike the usual cheapo ones with a weak milky chocolate taste, B3's soft serve is made from the real dark bittersweet stuff. For just $3, it's well worth it. I was just thinking how this place came about to do such great food when I noticed on the receipt that it's under the same company as Wild Rocket and Relish. No wonder.

Something sweet to chase away the Monday blues! Foong Woei Wan called this “a treat for adults” in the Posh Nosh section of Urban, The Straits Times. I call this dark chocolate soft serve ice cream ($3) “a treat for kids” instead. Why so? Though smooth, I couldn’t discern where’s the “dark” part of the ice cream. It’s not rich or deep, just creamy milk chocolate ice cream that tastes of nostalgia cuz it reminds me of the NESTLÉ type I used to favour when I was a kid.B3 (Burger Bench & Bar) proclaims that the homemade “gourmet” soft serve is 1st in Singapore (see right hand side of pic below). I wonder, does that mean it’s second to none in terms of taste or it’s the 1st to launch such a soft serve in Singapore? Hmm.If you haven’t hear of B3, here’s a bit of background info: it’s a (relatively) new burger joint opened by Willin Low, the same creator of Wildrocket and Relish. Apparently, all the burger patties are hand-made, unprocessed, without preservatives or artificial flavourings. In short, fresh burgers that’s better for you compared to those icky fast food ones! For me though, I still prefer Relish if/when the craving for burgers strikes =)If interested, do drop by www.myfoodsirens.wordpress.com for more reviews/photos!
