This is the first time I'm trying out Comcentre's canteen food, and the most striking feature was that it's very affordable, with very filling food for less than $4. In Orchard, this is indeed very awesome for our pockets.By my friend's recommendation, I decided to go for the mixed vegetables rice stall and ordered three items - pork chop, fish cakes and mushroom, celery. This was a very good mix because I really liked how homecooked it feels. The pork chop could have been a bit more crispy and less limp, but perhaps it was left out there for some time. The fishcakes were delicious just like any other processed food... the mushrooms were also especially juicy! The celery was passable.Overall, such a lunch costs me only $3.30! Amazingly cheap! Of course if you want to eat here, you've to deal with the usual busy lunch crowds.

I used to work around Comcentre and get to know this canteen when introduced by my colleagues. The canteen is opened to public and also staffs of Singtel, just that we don't get the special discount if we are not working there. I frequent this economy rice stall a lot (very long queue when it's during lunch time). They have many variety of side dishes to choose from. I love their special pork chop but was sold out that day. Nevertheless, I ordered 2 vegetables dishes and 1 meat, which costs me $2.70 only. The taste is good and the portion given is right. Just that it can be very difficult to find an empty seat. Best advice is to drop by early!

The service was really fast, sometimes so fast that I was scooped the wrong stuff, but I didn't mind at all, as it was all good. Among the selection, there were a few meat-based items which were always quickly taken up, leaving the veg dishes there aplenty. Workers from other nearby buildings also like to come here for this stall during lunch hour.
