Originating from Seoul, the Chir Chir (pronounced Chi-Re Chi-Re) chain is South Korea’s largest chain of restaurants, known for its signature freshly-cooked Korean chicken dishes. It has opened three outlets in 313@Somerset, Bedok Point and Chinatown Point. It was common to see queue snaking outside the 313@somerset outlet due to its popularity. It was a good place for gathering as more of the dishes are big serving meant for sharing. It was also spacious and brightly light with Korean music being played. There are a series of different Korean chicken to choose from. They really look yummy and smell good (smell from neighbouring tables). You will tend to overspend and overeat. I went with 4 friends of mine and we ended up being overdosed with chicken. Nest Snow consists of chicken tenders together with cajun seasoning. It was topped with rich cream sauce and sweet salad. The chicken tenders have a crispy coating without an oily feel. The cream helps to prevent the tenders from being too dry. The swirl of whipped cream and sprinkles of cheese shaving makes it creamy and crispy. The tenders were very juicy within. It was a joy trying to dip the tenders into the creamy cheese, enjoying the joy of pulling the cheese from the sauce. Nest Snow ($32.90)It was mentioned that the cheese fries were made up of crispy french fries served with Chir Chir's original secret sauce. However, we find it generally normal as it was not cheese enough and the fries were not crispy either. It was too normal to be priced so highly. Chir Cheese Fries ($9.90)Kkhanpung King was a combination of spicy and sweet sauce with dipping cream. The chicken was really fresh and tender. It was sweet with a little spiciness. This spiciness was too mild even for non-spicy eaters. The sweet spicy sauces make the chicken very appetizing for consumption. The chewy topokki (rice cakes) and sweet potato help to create texture and variation to the dish. Kkanpung King ($28.90)Garlicky tenders were simple yet delicious. Crispy tenders were glazed with soya sauce. It was also topped with roasted sweet potatoes and fried Toppoki that lent some balance to the textures and flavors. Garlicky Tenders ($26.90) 繼續閱讀

Was wonder around for SG50 shopping at Orchard. Meet up at this restaurant from Korea. We ordered a spicy BBQ chicken and mango salad. Ordering time was fast but food delivery to your table takes a little more time. Luckily we have spare time to spend. 😀😀😀 Finally BBQ chicken arrived at our table with mango salad. Both dishes serving is large like when in US food courts. The chicken tasted very well cooked and little spicy for those do not like chilli, you can avoid it. I like it very much expecially those thick black sauce. The serving possibly can have for 3-4 pax. There is some Korea rice cakes inclusive. Mango salad recipe is also delicious  and freshness of veg and mango. If it serve early than our main course it will be perfect 100%. Overall is a good experience as first timer. Will definitely visit again next time. 繼續閱讀

Full Chir Chir review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2015/06/chir-chir-fusion-chicken-factory.htmlChir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory (pronounced Chee-Ru Chee-Ru), a popular Korean fried chicken franchise from South Korean with over 100 outlets, opened its doors in Singapore in February 2015. Specialising in 3 distinct styles of Korean fried chicken; crisp, spicy barbecue, and garlicky, Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory has quickly attracted long queues for its tasty, uniquely presented dishes.Ambience at Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory is modern industrial, with touches of quirky / whimsical. The gray concrete walls are dotted with various objects, typcially with a farm or chicken theme, such as egg cartons or feeding trays. Furniture is clean and comfortable, and they'll able to shift it around to accomodate large groups. Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory has a buzzing, noisy atmosphere, they typically play background Korean music at loud volumes, which causes diners to speak much louder.Service at Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory is decent. The long waiting / queue times is alleviated somewhat by the friendly staff handing out menus, and taking orders even before you're seated. However, food is prepared to order, with fresh produce, so order fulfillment can take 15 minutes or so. Do not visit Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory if you're very hungry, or in a rush, as total waiting time can stretch up to 1 hour. Staff are efficient, turning over empty / dirty tables quickly, and are knowledgable enough to make recommendations and provide general descriptions of each dish. Payment however, is self-service.Food at Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory focuses on Korean fried chicken, or Chimaek. This means fried chicken prepared in a South Korea style, with crisp crackling skin, and chicken that has been marinated with spices. Generally, I find their fried chicken to be tasty, though somewhat lagging behind in texture, not the best around. Portions are large, designed for a minimum of 2 diners, and must be shared. Prices are comparable to other such Korea style restaurants, budget about SGD $30 per person. I personally feel it's not that great value for money, as you'll be able to get better food elsewhere.I wasn't too happy with the Garlicky Tenders (SGD $26.90) because of its rather firm chicken meat, that bordered on being dry. And while the soy sauce lent good flavour, it also made the overall dish rather salty. But I did like the non-greasy meat, and crisp, flavourful skin, as well as the fragrant aroma of the crunchy garlic flakes and lemon juice. The boneless chicken tenders / chunks are served over sweet caramelised sweet potato cubes, and savoury sauteed Ddukbokki / Tteokbokki / Sweet & Spicy Rice Cakes. Overall tasty dish, but I won't order this again. 繼續閱讀

For pictures and full review, pls visit:http://madamechewy.com/2015/05/27/chir-chir/I simply can’t get enough of fried chicken! I’ve had Chir Chir before in Seoul and it was such a memorable experience. Imagine my joy when it arrived in Singapore. Chir Chir is pronounced as “chi-ruh chi-ruh”, the bubbling sound oil makes when the chicken goes into the deep fryer.Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory is one of the largest chicken and beer chain in South Korea, with more than 100 outlets in Korea, Taiwan and China. There are 2 in Singapore- a flagship outlet in 313@Somerset and another in Bedok Point. Only fresh, not frozen, chickens are used and sauces are imported from Korea to ensure consistency. There is a buzzer affixed to each table which you can press to alert the wait-staff. For those who don’t fancy getting your fingers dirty, use the mini tongs. To start, we munched on Honey Grape Salad ($18.90), which we felt was unique. It’s not uncommon to see grapes as part of the salad, but at Chir Chir, it’s the main star. Sweet seedless grapes are tossed with raisins, almonds, walnuts and pine nuts, then crowned with ricotta and whipped cream, which are made in house. The appetiser comes with honey-garlic tortillas which went very well with the grapes. I could do without the whipped cream though, which dulled the refreshing properties of the salad with its richness.Served on a hot plate, the Nest Snow ($32.90) is constructed with juicy chicken tenders seasoned with Cajun, sweet potato puree, cheese and whipped cream, sitting in a moat of creamy sauce. The combination may sound odd, but it works beautifully. It’s no wonder that Nest Snow is Chir Chir’s most popular dish. Calorie laden I know, but YOLO!We also tried the Garlicky Wings ($28.90), which were marinated for 6 hours before deep-frying, then topped with special soy sauce, crunchy garlic flakes and fried garlic cloves. Our taste buds reveled in the flavours, which was familiar yet intriguing at the same time. Concealed beneath the wings, were roasted sweet potatoes and chewy fried Tteokbokki (Korean rice cake). I felt this could have been better if the garlic flavour was more prominent. We love mid-wings hence were annoyed when there was only 3 of them (the rest were drumettes). If you prefer boneless chicken, go for the Garlicky Tenders instead.I’d stop short of recommending Chir Chir Cheese Fries ($9.90), which was lacklustre, despite being served with a secret sauce.Apart from fried chicken, Chir Chir also serves beers, cocktails and mocktails. Prices are on the high side, but servings are large enough for 3-4 people. Chir Chir does not accept reservations, so if you’d like to avoid queuing, do arrive early. 繼續閱讀

Amidst the competitive Korean fried chicken scene in Singapore, FRESH chicken is no longer the key to success. Bring on the CHEESE, WHIPPED CREAM and the secret weapon--SWEET POTATO.Full story and pics on www.dairycream.blogspot.comI wonder if it is due to Singaporeans love for all things creamy and cheese because there are several items of the menu that contains either cheese or cream. One good example is the Nest Snow ($32.90), a bizarre yet wonderfully tasty mountain of Cajun chicken tenders served in a bubbling hot plate of Parmesan, mozzarella and cheddar. To top it all off, a swirl of whipped cream and sprinkles of cheese shavings. But Chir Chir (pronounced chee-ru chee-ru) does not stop at that. It had secretly ambushed a lump of mash SWEET POTATO beneath the chickens. There was no way one could escape from the intense cheesy-ness of this dish, but the presence of something sweet pulled your senses back into shape. If this was spiced with Chilli flakes, I think I'll be weeping at its culinary blasphemy. 繼續閱讀
