Finally checking out this highly raved Japanese stall at Commonwealth Crescent Market! I read that the chef works in a Japanese restaurant before! My friend and I ordered two of their best-sellers, the Smoked Chicken Set and Chicken Roulade set. Finally checking out this highly raved Japanese stall at Commonwealth Crescent Market! I read that the chef works in a Japanese restaurant before! My friend and I ordered two of their best-sellers, the Smoked Chicken Set and Chicken Roulade set. The Smoked Chicken is prepared daily, which was nicely deboned and charcoal grilled, and smoked with apple wood. It is then sprinkled with balsamic teriyaki sauce and cherry tomatoes. The menu states limited servings available daily, lucky us managed to order it! ;) The Chicken Roulade is essentially a flattened chicken thigh rolled around minced chicken meat mixed with leek, ohba leaves and egg yolk. Then, it is steamed so that it looks like a roulade. It is served with somen in a supreme stock of chicken which is double boiled with pumpkin, which gives the soup it's colour and sweetness! The texture of the noodles, the flavour of the broth and the chicken is just perfect! I absolutely like the Daikon Tofu Salad that comes together with each set, so appetizing! Overall, really really good quality Japanese food at a hawker! I am thoroughly impressed and will be coming back again! 張貼
