When anybody mention ye lai xiang straight away cuttle fish and cheng tng from Bedok corner will struck out of people's converation. This stall had been around probably longer than anybody. There will be a queue of 4-5 person at a time at the stall. Usually waiting time for the dish after an order taken will be less than 5 minutes. The dish consists of sliced pineapple, cucumber, tau pok, lettuce, cuttlefish and kang kong doused with sweet and chilli sauce topped with crush peanut. Price: Small

Mrupupup encountered this dish named 'Cuttlefish Kang Kong' 华记鱿鱼蕹菜 at thhe Bedok South Hawker Centre. Never knew this cuttlefish kang kong dish existed in a hawker centre. The dish is special and comes with cuttlefish (fresh and soft), kang kong vegetables, pineapple slices, peanuts, bean sprouts and lots of special sauce (sweet and sour). This is a very famous for cuttlefish kang kong. I am a fan of cuttlefish kang kong and have been wanting to try this stall out. Cuttlefish kang kong is a very appetising dish. The cuttlefish is served with kang kong, pineapple, cucumber, tau pok nicely mixed with sweet sauce as well as the chilli sauce. They added the peanuts just before served. When you mixed everything nicely, it is a delicious plate of cuttlefish kang kong.

This stall is operated by a relative of the Cheng Tng stall next door. It was started by their Grandma decades ago using her secret recipe and handled down since 1939.Jiu Her Eng Chye (Cuttlefish Kangkong) is not commonly available and amongst them, not many are really good in making it.
