I wanted some dessert to eat at home and so I ordered takeaway from this dessert stall selling traditional chinese desserts, from almond/sesame paste to cheng tng, etc. I got the gingko nut and barley for $1.50. It was a very small bowl and wasn't filled to the brim. But taste-wise it was alright. Not overly sweet and the amount of gingko nuts added was acceptable. 繼續閱讀

this stall sells hot desserts. i tried the white fungus in almond paste. it was quite odd as the fungus being delicate, did not match well with the almond paste which was thick and heavy and too rich. it was served warm and not too hot. the combination actually made me feel a bit sick as it was not smooth and was rather unusual. i would not recommend it. service is not very friendly either. and it is a rather small bowl. the almond paste tasted very fake, and the entire bowl was simply odd. 繼續閱讀

Next dessert bowl on the hunt! I wanted to try many different stalls as I can with different desserts. This time, I tried their yam and glutinous rice with gingko nuts for ... oh no I forgot. about $2 there? Or $2.50?The lady mixed it together with the rice because the yam paste wasn't enough for a portion's worth. So I agreed and tried.Compared to the one in Tiong Bahru, this was also not too sweet, but I guess it wasn't my cup of dessert to be together with the tasteless glutinous rice. The yam was pretty decent, but somehow it doesn't wow me as much. Cookeeatmonster, hunting for the worthy places of bringing your monstrous appetite. 繼續閱讀
