I'm a big fan of the Fig & Olive's spaghetti and the chicken pesto carbonara is my favourite. The ala carte price of this item is $16.90 but Fig & Olive constantly hold promotions to help customers cut down on our dining costs. For this meal, I purchased their $11.90 (Excluding GST and service charge) meal, which consists of chicken pesto carbonara and a soft drink. For this meal, I purchased their $11.90 (Excluding GST and service charge) meal, which consists of chicken pesto carbonara and a soft drink. This is the first time I purchased a drink at the restaurant and even though the pepsi light is just..regular can of pepsi light, I was pleasantly surprised when I was given a glass filled with ice and a small slice of lemon. Lemon and pepsi go well together and a small gesture like this by the restaurant makes me feel as the amount of effort the restaurant is putting in to give customers the best dining experience they can provide.
Moving on to the main dish, the chicken pesto carbonara consists of herb grilled chicken topped with tomato sauce and melted cheese, potatoes and served with pasta/olive rice. I prefer their pasta over their olive rice so I normally order for the pasta. The chicken served is like other chicken served by Fig & Olive for other dishes. The only difference between the chicken of the different dishes is the sauce that it has been topped off. Although I'm generally dislike tomato sauce, the sauce Fig & Olive uses is not too sour and they use fresh tomatoes. In addition to the good combination of chicken and pasta, the dish comes with a side of high quality potatoes.
It is a relatively large portion and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this dish to readers who are craving for pasta!
