Grasso Coffee is used to be a takeaway concept kiosk located next to Simei Mrt station in 2012 selling only coffee and Ice Blend. In 2014, it has expand and relocated to The Commerze@ Irving at Tai Seng area where it now has extra space for seats. Over here at Grasso, you will be able to find both the Nanyang style Kopi and espresso based beverages. At the same time, there are freshly baked and packed sandwiches which come with different fillings every single day. However, they comes in limited quantities, so be sure to grab yoursbefore it runs out!The commerze@ Irving is located behind exit A of Tai Seng Mrt. As it is an industrial area, during lunch time, you can see crowds flooding the row of café located there. Apart from the lunch time crowd, grasso is the place where you can enjoy quality and good food and beverage while taking a time out from the hustle and bustle of the city. Grasso is “Fat” in Italian and the choice of this word is to simulate satisfaction. They aim toprovide diner with “cheap and good” food and beverage, this is why their food and beverage are affordably priced.Upon entering the café, you will be warmly greeted by the staff over the counter where you will place your order. One of the specialty of Grasso coffee is their homemade tiramisu cheesecake which I strongly encourage you guys to try. Cake Display~Their award for homemade tiramisu cheesecake. If you are slightly a adventurous person, why not try to create your own coffee based on your preference. MENU~ ãGrassoCoffeeAfter ordering, we sat down to chill while waiting for our food item to be served. From the decoration, we get to know more fun facts about coffee and grasso. We have order a Raspberry Latte ($4.60) & Homemade Tiramisu Cheesecake ($4.50). We actually customized our latte with the addition of raspberry flavor (+$0.60) to our latte ($4) which turns out to be surprisingly nice to drink. Homemade Tiramisu Cheesecake ($4.50) : It combines the flavors and richness oftiramisu and Cheesecake. The lady’s fingers were dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar, and mascarpone cheese, flavoured with cocoa. It was soft and light. I enjoy eating this cheesecake as the sweetness was just right for non-sweet-tooth person like me.Raspberry Latte ($4.60) : Grasso Coffee uses Australian coffee beans for their espresso based beverages. According to the owner, Australian beans are milder in taste as compared to Italian beans. With the raspberry flavor added to the latte, you can taste traces of raspberry in every mouth without overtaking the natural coffee taste.Follow me at instagram : @jacefootprintsRead more at http://jacefootprints.blogspot.sg/2016/01/singapore-grasso-coffee.html 繼續閱讀

Visit http://freshffm.blogspot.sg/2013/11/grasso-coffee-simeis-hidden-gem.html for a full review with photos!Grasso serves typical cafe fare, with an assortment of drinks, sandwiches and pastries. My favourite drink here is the iced latté, which has a blend that is noticeably milder and less strong than other cafes. This isn’t to say that it’s flat however, because it’s very well-complemented with the milk used, creating a very smooth, clean taste, akin to a classic men’s dress watch. I feel that it’s a drink that fits into our coffee landscape very aptly, as most locals aren’t used to the strong-tasting brews of traditional espresso. In my book, I’d prefer a latté that’s a bit stronger while still retaining the same smooth quality, but this sits just fine with me.Grasso also serves some very interesting ice blends, with beverages like English toffeenut and banana choccoffee amongst them, which cannot be found anywhere else. Generally speaking, I avoid ice blended coffees as I personally believe that their very nature –just a shot or two of espresso, masked by heavy flavourings –detract from the main gist of coffee. However, on the few occasions I’ve tried the ice blends, they taste pretty good. Whenever possible, they use fresh ingredients instead of simply using syrups as substitutes, which makes for natural-tasting ice blends (however natural a flavoured ice blended drink can taste). Grasso clearly takes a leaf out of the book of popular coffee chains by having these clearly youth-targeted menu options. I don’t like the idea of ice blended drinks masquerading as coffee sources (they are, but they aren’t true to the roots of coffee, which I take issue with), I won’t criticize them for it because here, they’re simply catering for the youth market segment. Furthermore, the ice blended drink options are creative and original, and add a nice dash of colour to the menu. I suppose as long as young people are introduced to coffee, it doesn’t matter what form it comes in, but they just shouldn’t mistakenly think that syrup-flavoured ice-blended drinks with a smidgen of coffee is coffee at all, and should gradually progress to more mature forms of coffee. 繼續閱讀

I frequent Simei's Phoon Huat outlet as it is the nearest to my home. I noticed this little coffee store along the way which piqued my curiosity and led me to take a closer look at their menu. They offer gourmet, ice blended and even traditional coffee at affordable prices, I knew I had to try it! It is located just opposite the MRT station. However, the past few times I had to forgo buying it as there was too much stuff on my hands after coming out from Phoon Huat. Anyway, I finally had a chance to try it today and I got a Flat White! With just 2 seats at the counter, it is mostly for takeaway. My cup of Flat White tasted quite mild, not a slightest bit of bitter taste actually. For me, I prefer my latte to be just a bit bitter but still, it is not too bad! I will surely come back and try their other coffee! I already have the ice blended ones in my mind! 繼續閱讀
