Once of the better satay places around! My family and I always frequent this particular satay stall whenever we visit east coast lagoon food village. The chicken satay here is especially tender, and satay pieces are relatively big and juicy as compared to other similar satay stalls. Be prepared to wait for your satay though! Haron 30 is extremely popular!!!Read More

We were there on a rainy afternoon for a really late lunch. There are many stalls selling satay in this food village. There are always people urging you to order satay either by waving at you or shouting across to you or simply asking whenever you walk past their stalls. There are so many of them but i set my mind to try out this particular stall as this seemed to be the most popular amongst all. I was there at about 3pm and chatted with a lady in charge. She asked me to come back about 15 minutes later as they were still doing preparation. I chatted with her for quite a bit. I asked her, 'So, your stall is famous for the satay'. I asked this question as this stall offers BBQ Chicken Wings too. There are quite a number of media clippings on display right at this stall. Her answer to my question was, 'Yeah. We are the number 1 for Satay here!'. I liked her level of confidence. I went back 15 minutes later to order 5 mutton sticks and 5 chicken sticks of satay. The minimum order has to be 10 sticks and each stick is 0.60 cents. I paid and gave them my table number and went back to wait. We waited for about 15 minutes before we gotten our order. Both chicken and mutton were nicely marinated and grilled it perfectly. The color of the both chicken and mutton were in the delightful golden brown, not too charred and it tasted tender and juicy, the meats came off the stick effortlessly. The gravy was rather thick, aromatic and a little spicier as compared to the chinese version. And, it would be better if more cucumber pieces are given. I liked it and my partner agreed too. I think they are about 10 muslim satay stalls at Lagoon and it occurred to me that it was tough to pick the right one. Randomly chose a stall and it turned out to make me happy with what I received. The satays were plump and bursting with flavor, it was charcoal bbq-ed well and I thought I could almost taste the grill. Had 5 sticks each of a mixture of beef and mutton. Truly, they were so addictive I actually finished all to myself! Together with the cucumber slices that helped clear my tongue after each stick. Also, the guy who served us was one friendly man, as upon request for more cucumbers, he smiled and assured us it was no problem, returning very quickly with a bowl full. Good satays definitely need good peanut sauce to go with and yes, the peanut sauce was pretty consistent and peanut chunks were strongly present. I grew up loving satay and this is one stall I'd definitely go back to. Read More
