Nobody birthday at the moment, candle was just an impromptu decoration. Photogenic and happy-looking, layer was paper-thin with unbelievable light. Not too sweet yet still delicious, Cake was a colourful syrupy art. Texture was fluffy, each stack was silky creamy and firm. Nice ratio in whipping goodness, crepe was baked well to my pleasant surprise. Something satisfied my taste buds, it was not greasy at all. The price was around $9.00 if I was not mistaken, no harm trying indeed.
We waited for quite a while for the drink and desserts to arrive. The drink took more than 10 minutes to be served to us. Looks like I Am has to do something with its manpower.
Stir It Up is the chef's recommendation. However, my friend and I didn't like the drink at all. We didn't even finish half of the glass. Considering the fact that we shared one drink, this means that there's lots of room of improvements for the drink. The chocolate tasted was very mild; the milk overpowered the whole drink. Also, it had a cherry after taste (I assume it's from the red syrup drizzled over the whipped cream) which I didn't like because I don't like cherries in the first place. In the menu, it stated that the drink will be garnished with a whole cherry, and not drizzled with cherry syrup. At $6.90++ for a drink, it's totally not worth it.
The Rainbow Mille Crepe Cake is definitely Instagram-worthy, but not money and calories-worthy. The crepe itself is kind of bland and tasteless. The chocolate syrup helped to make the crepe a little sweeter, but still, this cake is a huge disappointment. The crepe reminds me of the "Malay kueh" taste. Weird. Lady M does much better Mille Crepe than this at the same price. $8.90++ for a Mille Crepe that's done badly? Oh hell no!
I like Red Velvets myself, so obviously this RV would be the highlight of this cafe trip. But still, it's not good enough to compensate the shortcomings of the drink and Mille Crepe. This cake is very rich and dense, which makes it very jelak to eat after a while. On top of that, the portion is extremely huge, so it'll be a struggle to finish such a dense cake by your own. Advisable to share with 3 people. The chocolate taste is very mild, and the frosting tasted more like ordinary buttercream than cream cheese. I guess $8.90++ for such a huge slice of cake is reasonable, but I wouldn't buy it the second time.
Would love to try the Pelangi (Rainbow in Malay) cake one day! Hopefully it will taste as nice as it looks!
The waiting time was not as long as we had expected and pretty soon it was our turn. The waiter led us to a table and handed us the menu. We only wanted to try their cakes but their menu did not have them.
We just looked at what was display and ordered what we wanted.
The waitress took our order and we waited for our orders to arrive. After a very long time our drink- Stir It Up($6.90), finally arrive. Chocolate-milkey drink topped with whipped cream and maraschino cherry. Apparently this is one of their signature dish. I didn't llike the taste at all. It wasn't really chocolatey, more of a weird milky, minty, mild taste of cocoa kind of drink. The only nice about the drink is the oreo and cherry. Even the table next to us who ordered the drink did not like it.
Next came the Scarlett Red Velvet Cake($8.90). The cake was quite dense and tasted a little like chocolate. The frosting was cream cheese. I think it's quite nice and it taste a lot better than the crepe.
Lastly came the Rainbow Mille Crepe Cake($8.90). I think the crepe tasted quite plain. There was not much cream in between each layer. Luckily there was some chocolate sauce at the side which help added some chocolatey sweetness to the crepe.
It was my first time at I am cafe and i quite like the ambience there, quite suitable for friends to hang out together and have some small bites or desserts.I have ordered this rainbow cake and it lis so pretty!! It cost me $8 and i shared it with my friend. The taste is rather mediocre but i guess it’s selling point is how pretty it looks.My friend ordered the honey mooney for $6.90. it is quite sweet to my liking actually.Overall, I will be returning in future to try out the other desserts here.

We actually found this place by accident while we were looking for a place to catch up with our group of friends on a Friday night. Apparently most of the café around the area either close by 11pm or the one that open late normally serve Nargile (Turkish water pipe) which we find a turn off especially as we don't smoke.
For the mocktails we had Virgin Mojito, Twisted Sister and Ignite Sunset ($6.90 each). The virgin mojito has a clear and refreshing look to it. The combo of mint, tangy lime and syrup on ice really deliver the freshness. The twisted sister and ignite sunset has pomegranate in the mocktails giving the effect of sunset in the glass. Both mocktails deliver a more fruity freshness in the drinks.
Service staff is very friendly and efficient. The décor of this place is actually quite simple with a lay back and relaxing atmosphere. The square tables can be easily group together when you are in a big group of separated when you are in the smaller one.
Overall, we find “I am …” is a good place for you to catch up with your friends any time during the day. The mocktails are excellent while the cakes can be improve. Although this place is still young, it has the ingredients to be a successful café. Cheers !!!
