Had my dinner in this Jack's Place outlet and was simply disappointed with their service and food. Service was super slow and the staffs here are totally unfriendly. THe restaurant was quite cosy and comfortable. I had their fish and chips, which the fish meat was abit stingy and the crust was too oily. The French fries are also too salty. Garlic bread was not toasted long enough and was too soft and not fragrant. Mushroom soup was quite diluted as well. For the price of more than twenty p

And here we are again at Jack's Place to, hopefully, satisfy our steak craving after a disappointing experience almost 6 months back. To our pleasant surprise, the food quality seemed to have improved by a fair bit. Set Lunch Steak ($13.80++)The portion was quite generous and the steak was not too bad considering the price.  Monthly Promotion - Sirloin with Hokkaido Scallops ($23++)
Price does matter, at least here in Jack's Place. The quality of this steak is significantly better than their usual set lunch steak. The doneness is finally to our satisfaction and the beef was tender and chewy. I especially love the scallops as they are fresh, succulent, and blended well with the slightly spicy salsa sauce.

 As for the soup of the day and dessert, you could probably give it a miss, unless of course if it's already included in the set meal.

I didn't want to argue as I was really hungry. And for the price that I was paying, I really expected more from them. The fish was quite good. I love the baked potato at the side! I told the waitress to keep pouring the sour cream and bacon bits! HAHA! Vegetables at the side were well-cooked so I have no qualms about it.

I feel that the standard has dropped a lot since the last time I came, seems like they weren't worried about losing customers.

one fine saturday where i passby jack place resturant at bukit panjang plaza i had decided to give it a try after see their daily set lunch promo for soup+main course+dessert but it turn out to be a disappointed oneSoup was watery and dont taste goodthe steak were not medium as per i requested it more seem of welldonethe dessert is decent enoughoverall i wont recommend to try their daily set lunch after this experience

For this month of May, Jack's Place features a variety of New Zealand fare. I had never tasted New Zealand food before, so my curiosity pique me to try them.For starter, i ordered a 'Crab Canelloni', garnished with gourmet lettuce, sea salt and hazelnut.  For my main course, i ordered a 'Pacific Fish Roll'. It consist of dory fish wrapped with chicken mousse, served with mash potato and seasonal vegetables. It was a rather bland dish and the minimal strawberry sauce given doesn't help save the dish. I had to use lots of tomato sauce to finish off the dish.

Overall, there is hits and misses but I am glad to have a taste of New Zealand!

Great Disappointment...

The husband was craving for some meat and as we were lazy to travel far, we decided to drop by Jack’s Place for a quick fix. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to go right that dinner. For starters, the vegetable soup was blend and tasted canned-like. Thankfully, the garlic bread was tasty and made up for the shortfall of the soup. The beef was another disappointment. The doneness was wrong (more of medium well rather than medium rare which the husband ordered), resulting in a tough texture that was

I was hungry and Mom's not cooking. So I dragged my parentsto Jack's Place and we a sumptuous dinner together. Jack's placeis considered high class restaurant but you can wear anything. Yes,you can wear slipper and singlet and yet their waiting staff serve youwell. I mean very polite, attentive and helpful. Their staff know all therecipes at the back of their hand. Thought Jack's Place is very popular on their grilled steak, so I decided to give it a try. Their ambience was ok,not very noisy. Price is abit pricy. Ordered their signature hot plate. The steak is not overcooked ,Taste juicy. Their baked potato is the best. very soft & i like those small red tiny things on top <i don't know the name of that > Is very crunchy,abit salty but very delicious !!

This baked fish is very soft and the fish taste fresh. It is a light dish with no rice, but it is enough to fill my stomach. The fries at the side is tasteful too. The fish, fries and salad goes well together. The cheese on the top of the baked rice is nice but I feel sick of the taste after that. But all in all, the taste is still good. The environment is suitable for chilling and relaxing. The waitress are attentive and provide good services too.

It was a nice cozy place. I was hungry at that moment, so decided to have a 350g NZ T-Bone. I actually wanted Medium rare for my T-Bone, but my T-Bone was served in a hotplate with medium done. It was disappointing as my steak was so tough, I had a hard time cutting up my steak.

Slipper Lobster & Chicken is grilled slipper lobster and chicken topped with choice of black pepper, sambal or mushroom sauce. However, my girlfriend chose the mushroom sauce.

After some time, my girlfriend, my ex-colleague and my friends finished our meals, the waiting staff wasn't attentive. Somehow or rather we have to wave our hands like clown to get their attention to clear our plates and ask for a bill. It was around 9 p.m., they don't seem to be busy. I wondered why service was so neglected?

The Brownie was heavenly with ice cream and the Peach Melba - after a long time-
