Earlier on, I've tried the Mini Canelle which was a cameralized kind of pastry. The clue to know whether a cafe is good or not lies in their croissant.Mini Croissant : $2.40 / 100gREALLY small in size, I thought it wasn't worth it. The baked good was not as fluffy and crispy after toasting it, and in fact it really tasted like there was honey and sugar sprinkled on top. It became slightly burnt and the sugar was really raw and bad. I would recommend you buying the mini canelle over this.. or not at all.In fact, it was rather oily too. Johan simply has a nice-looking logo, thats all. Service was slow and it was really crowded as well! Try to avoid peak periods.. maybe go in the morning for fresh good. 繼續閱讀

Canele is a type of French pastry, characterised by its soft and tender custard filling and the dark, thick, caramelised crust. These mini caneles are rather small in size, you can even put the whole canele in your mouth! But beware, the crust was really sticky and chewy, you may have some caramelised sugar left on your teeth for quite a while! These are the mini cheesecakes, taste pretty good too! The cheesecakes were baked, the texture was more cake-like rather than those melt-in-the-mouth type. 繼續閱讀

As i was exploring the newly opened shopping mall at Jurong East, something smelling very delicious drawn me to Johan Paris.Johan Paris is actually a bakery from Japan and has made their first tribute in SIngapore at Westmall. As I was approaching the bakery, I also saw some mini canele baking in the oven. From what I understand from the staff, the mini croissant and the mini canele do contain a very small amount of alcohol in the ingredients used. As i just had my dinner elsewhere, I have only bought some mini canele (100g for $3.50) to try. The mini canele was not too sweet and the crust was slightly chewy. On top of that, as it's rather bite size, you can just pop the whole canele into your mouth. In the middle, there is a custard like filling and it contains a tinge of rum in it. 繼續閱讀

Well, this is my first time trying this Mini Cheesecake at $3.50 for 100g (i find it a little too expensive). To be honest, i didn't really like the taste cause to me cheese cake should be served cold instead of warm. I supposed it was fresh baked cause the texture was very soft, but there isn't much cheesy taste too. Since I was there during a weekday, there wasn't any people queuing at all and they also had free sample for the customers to try on. 繼續閱讀

As you reach the basement 2 of Westgate, its really a food heaven. We get to see alot of stall where finger food were all prepared and make our stomach churned and yearn for them. The crowd around Johan on my first day of visit had make me aware of Johan's presence.Their petite crossiants, cheesecakes and tarts cost were all weigh by grams. The mini crossiant comes with two flavours, the original and the one in chocolate. Though it was original, there was one layer of sugar glazed at its exterior over the sweet and flaky minis. Nice!Cost: $2.40 / 100gThe bite size cheese cake and tarts were priced at the same rate, thus patrons were allowed to mix this 2 kinds to make up 100g. The cheese fillings were a little too dry for me, however the external was still quite spongy, not too bad ah.The tart looked a bit darker, perhaps it was a little too small, the taste of it doesn't really give too much bite to it. Cost: $3.50 / 100g 繼續閱讀
