At Kuriya's, there have a small stall just behind the cashiering area which sells onigiris and other food (like Lok Lok).My sisters and I often buy the onigiris here as they are quite flavourful and inexpensive. I got a Noritama Onigiri ($1.20) which is essentially egg and seaweed onigiri. These are actually quite easy to prepare at home too but i fancy the shape of the onigiri and it is easy to eat on the go. Quite salty and the rice feels as if it has been seasoned with the flakes even though

My family and I often like to stop by Kuriya for some decent sushi. Although we can get it easily at other places such as supermarkets, the ones here is really nice and fresh.You can buy the individually wrapped sushi or get a sushi platter. This shop offers both, and other Japanese food as well as seafood.Anyway i got quite a lot of items, cucumber, egg, tuna, mayo corn, eel and tofu skin with rice. The best on-the-go sushi around JP

Occasionally I'll have sushi cravings but I don't want to eat a whole meal of sushi but just a few pieces. In Jurong Point, there are a few places where you can buy these on-the-go sushi: NTUC Xtra, Umi Sushi (boon lay mrt) and at Kuriya Japanese Fresh Fish Market along Japanese Street! In my opinion Kuriya offers the best (also the most expensive. Price hike!) on-the-go sushi out of these three options. If you want to indulge yourself a little more, do opt for Kuriya! I like how the proportions

In my opinion Kuriya offers the best (also the most expensive. Price hike!) on-the-go sushi out of these three options. If you want to indulge yourself a little more, do opt for Kuriya! I like how the proportions of the ingredients (sashimi/unagi/tamago) is so large and I always feel satisfied when I eat my sushi


It's $2.50 for three pieces, 80 cents for both tamago and the white one which I like, and 90 cents for the sashimi. Love it!

Salmon sashimi sushi from kuriya is really good! The salmon is slightly fatty making it really moist and soft. The sashimi pieces are really fresh having no fishy smell at all. Together with the vinegared rice, which is tasty even on its own, this makes for an extremely satisfying sushi. It's so good I ate the whole box! Definitely a good choice to get your sushi fix on theGo since they offer takeaway packets of sushi!

I could not decide which sushi to eat so i decided to order the assorted sushi. i like their assorted sushi. it has a mix of all kinds of sushi. there were jelly fish topping, fish egg topping, crabstick topping, lobster salad topping, seaweed topping, fried egg topping and crabstick mayo topping. i like the jelly fish topping, it was very chewy. i liked how they marinated the jelly fish. it was very satisfying.

I happened to pass by Kuriya after 9pm and was delighted to see their sushi selling for a discount. So I decided to grab a few pieces of sushi for supper! A crowd started to gather as soon as the discount was made available and a queue started to form at the cashier. I think the discounted prices just kicked in when I was there, so I was fortunate to still have a wide variety of sushi to choose from. I was actually surprised that the servings of fresh fish, sushi toppings were not stingy at all and quite generous and fresh. The salmon sushi and unagi sushi were decent and fresh for a takeaway kiosk.

I am not much of a salad person, I am more of a carnivore, but when my girlfriend bought this salad from kuriya fish market and insisted that I try it, I found myself liking it. This salad is actually the normal garden greens topped with the lobster salad topping. The sauce that they provided was different from the usual thousand island or coslaw dressing. It was more watery and yellowish in colour, it tasted pretty sour too. my girlfriend said it was not as fattening as those normal salad dress

I got myself three pieces of sushi from kuriya fish market. i found their sushi really delicious. the amount of vinegar they add to the Japanese is just right, the rice is not too sticky as well. I got the tuna mayo and crabstick topping. The tuna mayo did not really have much mayo flavor so I guess it was less fattening. My girlfriend was craving for sushi but as it was not dinner time, we decided to grab something light to settle her craving. We bought a pack of two sushi. She picked the crabstick mayo sushi for the both of us. The crabstick mayo sushi was pretty good, they added a lot of mayo to the crabstick which makes it very creamy. the crabstick was cut into tiny pieces and topped on the rice. the rice had this vinegar taste, it made it taste really light. It was pretty good.

My favourite japanese rice cakes are from Kuriya at Jurong Point's basement japanese food street. They have a couple of flavors, but the one i like best is the bonito flakes and egg. Each rice cake costs $1.20 and they tend to sell out by night. Kuriya also has a promotion for sushi and sashimi at night! I was walking around jurong point. As I walked passed the Japanese street. I heard an employee at kuriya fish market calling out that all their sushi were on promotion. I decided to opt for a healthier choice by buyin their salad with lobster topping. They were very generous with their toppings and the vegetables were very fresh. Without the discount I may think twice before I buy but with the discount, it is definitely a must buy!

I had a sudden craving for scallops and I bought this immediately when I saw it! It comes in a stick of 3 and each stick costs $5. The scallops are really huge and definately worth for the money! The scallops are fresh and the sauce is nice!
