I was here with my friend We had burger,The bread is soft & fluffy, while the steak is tender, rare & very tastyWe also bacon ,mushrooms with Swiss cheese ,It was perfectly cooked, juicy & not dry at all, & also it’s huge ,worth the price for it It also comes with loads of really good fries thick cut, crisp on the outside & fluffy inside.My only complain were the serving time for our food took quite longabout 10-20mins Overall i rate 7/10…查看更多

I expected a very formal, fine dining experience because I’ve been told that it’s a very quiet and romantic restaurant but There was also a pretty high level of background noise, to the point where you’d have to speak quite loudly to your dining companion to be heard.We ordered the Porterhouse and the ribeye because those seem to be their specialties.The Porterhouse is essentially a larger version of a T-bone steak. On one end of the T-bone is the striploin, and on the other end is the tenderloin (fillet). I decided to do something different during the recent F1 weekend. Instead of keeping miles away from the epicenter, I braved restrictive roads and major inconveniences to dine at Mortons, which had a special lunch seating only during this annual weekend. As mentioned in my previous entry on Mortons, windows had been installed to allow for natural light to flood in, radiating the traditionally sombre main dining area. And what better time to see the place in a different light than in the afternoon, over a leisurely and decadent lunch?Caesar Salad - Fresh crunchy greens homogeneously tossed in classic caesar dressing and topped with fresh tasting croutons that didn't reek of rancid oil. Huge bowl so try to share.Lobster Bisque - The lobster bisque had a nice smoothness to it without coming across as too rich or creamy. The brandy taste is quite distinguishable so if you don't really like alcohol, you probably shouldn't order this. I applaud the freshness of the lobster but moan the measly portions (it's just 1 small piece of lobster). After all, it is $34.50++ a bowl.Spinach with Mushroom - Our mandatory greens for the meal. Plentiful mushrooms and spinach. So plentiful that we got sick of eating mushrooms after that. Good for 2-3 pax.Chicken Christopher - Coated with a layer of egg and pan fried till a golden brown, the chicken christopher was actually quite tasty, especially when dipped in the creamy yellowish sauce that came across as light with a mild garlicky flavour. However too much of the chicken can be quite a nauseating affair. Read. Share it.Fillet Mignon - It's been a while since I've had steak at Mortons, opting instead to go for their burger (standards have dropped!) during my last couple of visits. And I'm glad I decided to order my favourite cut this time round - the fillet mignon. Done up to a perfect medium rare yet a little charred on the outside, the meat was excellent - juicy and full of natural sweetness. What more can I ask for? Well, maybe seconds?Morton's Hot Chocolate Cake - Luscious warm chocolate oozing out from a break in the crust and paired with a nice chilly scoop of vanilla ice cream made for a wonderful end to the meal.As with any meal at Mortons, you can expect prices to be in excess of $100/pax, even for lunch. However, $246 for 2 pax was reasonable in my humble opinion and I'll definitely be happy to drop by again, be it for lunch or dinner. One thing to note though. Following a dim sum lunch at Yan Ting, it was dinner at Mortons - a testament to my ever expanding waistline and ever slimming wallet.We got our favourite table again and something about the interior struck me as different. Instead of the stoic and sombre dining room that I was used to, a couple of windows had been installed, allowing natural light in for a more cheery atmosphere (considering that Mortons only opens for dinner, there's not much natural light to speak off actually unless you get there before 7pm, which was exactly what I did).As usual we didn't even bother to try finishing the onion loaf and instead opted to doggy bag it.Broiled Sea Scallops Wrapped in Bacon - What would have usually been an excellent dish was marred by the under searing of the scallops which led to a little over tenderness in the center. Not that it was a very big issue though and I definitely still enjoyed the scallops. The bacon was still good as well - a little crisp with no rancid oil taste. You can choose to eat the scallops on their own or together with the minty, lightly sweet apricot chutney.Side of Asparagus - The token vegetable dish of the day amongst all the meat and seafood dishes. Funny how we didn't manage to finish the asparagus even though we were both fans of it.Colossal Shrimp Alexander -This dish never fails to amaze with the size of its colossal shrimp as well as the size of the dish in general. But (un)fortunately, the portion size seems to have shrunk a little this time round. Not that we were in a better position to finish everything though! The prawns were sweet and crunchy and trust me, share your prawns or you will be hit with a prawn overload by the end of the meal. Would have appreciated the paella staying on the stove a wee bit longer though.USDA Prime Burger - I was once again not impressed by Mortons's USDA Prime Burger, which featured a tender medium well beef patty with bits of fat that didn't impress with its lack of inherent beefy sweetness. The cheddar cheese, mushrooms and bacon did give it an additional oomph though. Overall still very decent and better than quite a fair bit of burgers out there.Upside Down Apple Pie - I had the option of picking the dessert off the dessert trolley, which looked fantastic by any measure but we decided to stick to the tried and tested upside down apple pie which would help balance out out palates with its acidity. Solid crust beneath apple slices and raisins dusted with Cinnamon powder. A scoop of vanilla ice cream helped to sweeten things a little. Nice!The dessert was complimentary but we still chalked up a bill of about $218. The interesting part about dining in Morton's is that the waitress would appear and introduce herself as well as the food to us. The service was good and I thought the atmosphere would be too noisy for a romantic date. Good for company gathering or friends chill out.The entire experience started with a huge bun. If you know how big 933 curry chicken bun is, this is the size except that there's absolutely nothing in it. Good to be shared among 4 pax.For starters, we ordered the Prime Ocean Platter. This is what I call all good food on one plate! Shrimps, crabs, lobster, oysters all in one big platter. They are really fresh and well serve chilled on a huge platter. The prawns are huge compared to those you eat in normal seafood restaurants. S$88 for 2 pax, S$175 for 3-4 pax, S$255 for 5-6 pax.Coming up next, we had the Colossal Shrimp Alexander. These fellas are big..I mean huge! They can even be mistaken as doughnuts in disguise. Succulent and not overly done. Best part is that they remove the shells for you. Keeps you coming back for more. S$40 for 4 shrimps.As if not enough of seafood, we proceeded with the Oysters on the Half Shell. These fellas are fresh. One bite and you can't stop. I love it with lemon juice freshly squeezed and a few drops of tobasco sauce. S$36 for half dozen.The Jumbo Lump Crabmeat Cocktail is something we regretted ordering. I can't really taste much crabmeat in it. There is but not enough to make it a good dish. S$37For main course, I ordered the Lobster Tail. It is yummy. There's something about Western Aussie lobster that I can't point out. They seems to taste better than lobsters from any other countries. Either I'm bias or it's just the way the lobster is being cooked. This perfectly done lobster tail is to die for. As a seafood lover, I couldn't resist putting it into my mouth at first sight....and then you start to put more into your mouth...within second, you would be asking for a second helping. Yes, it is THAT nice!Ended the dinner with Raspberry Souffle. Best souffle I have ever tasted. It doesn't look appealing but the taste is heavenly. 4 different flavors to choose from: Chocolate, Raspberry, Grand Marnier and Lemon. I have chosen the Raspberry. I can have 5 of them at one go and I'm not kidding. A good way to end a meal.To quench our thirst besides feeding our hungry stomach, we had the Pesquera. Morton is a cosy and dimmed bar with great ambience. It is surrounded with high stools and table, sofa seats or counter seats. Favourite after work hang out place. I had chocolate martini. The chocolate are at the base of the drink, can't totally dissolve it causing a lump at the bottom. Was alright but if the lump dissolves, it'll be better and tastier ! We also ordered finger food like blue cheese fries. It was really tasty! Very hot and crispy on the outside and the richness of the potato inside. The blue cheese is not smelly at all.
