Rama 9 - Food Republic (已結業)

My girlfriend and I were walking around causeway point, we decided to head to food republic for dinner. I ordered the thai food from Rama 9. after browsing their selections, I decided on their tom yum soup with omelette and rice. Their tom yum soup is the red kind not the clear kind which means it is not so spicy. The acidity of the soup was just right, it was not too spicy. I decided to order the set meal from the thai food stall. I settled on the Oyster Chicken + Soup + Rice set meal. it was one of the cheaper set meal from this stall. most of their food were priced at $5.80, but my oyster chicken was only $4.80. the portion was pretty large, there were quite a number of chicken pieces. the oyster sauce was not too salty as well. the soup they provided was not too salty, very tasty. i recommend the green chilli sauce, it was not too spicy, more of sourish sweet.

this time round i decided to try the Basil Chicken rice. As the place was pretty crowded and I could not find a seat, i decided to take away my food. the lady was kind enough not to charge me any extra take away charges so i only paid $5.80 for my basil chicken. I found it really good, the hotness was just right. the chicken was minced very finely and every piece was well coated with the basil sauce. there was a small piece of omelette inside too.

I took away the set meal from this thai food stall at Causeway Point's food republic. I ordered the Tom Yum Soup + Omelette + Rice set. Their tom yum soup is the creamy kind, a little sour, not too spicy. but it does evoke the appetite. there are some seafood in there like sotong and prawn. i think the sotong was boiled in the soup for a little too long, it tasted a little tough. the omelette was not too bad, goes well with the rice.

I ordered the pineapple rice set from rama 9. It comprises of the rice itself and a bowl of soup. the soup was not tom yum soup but it tasted kind of spicy. The portion of the pineapple rice was really stunning. It was like a mountain of rice. there was chicken cubes fried together with it. The pineapple rice was very fragrant, it was not too oily as well. however, there was not too many pineapple cube. I feel that pineapple will give the dish more acidity but nevertheless, this stall pineapple
