My colleague insisted to drive all the way here from Bukit Merah to lunch here. And we had to park pretty far away from the restaurant. I was tired and sweaty. BUT the quality of the food made it worthwhile. Everything was very nice! I agree with the previous reviewer, the presentation of the food is really nothing to shout about, but the food is good!I love the sauce of the foie gras; the duck was very crispy on the skin, but the meat was soft and tender, unlike many places where the duck confit is dry and hard. And I have to salute the chef for her salmon steak, she was bold enough to have it just half cooked, it was almost like it melted in my mouth. The cream sauce of the chicken was.... creamy, but, not that creamy. I have no idea how they did it. My colleague licked his plate dry.The desserts, creme brûlée and creme caramel, were also simple in presentation. I like the creme brûlée a lot. The texture was good, and the sweetness was just nice for me.Overall, this place is recommended!

Me and my family members are fans of the duck confit here, which, is price at a mere $17.50 net. I have had my share of fancy restaurants which are obsessed with how their food look rather than how their food taste. I am no expert, but I know what I am eating. This place, they are not huge on presentation, but the food is delicious! Crispy duck skin, soft and tender duck flesh, served with a very flavourful down to earth sauce. It works perfectly compared to those fancy raspberry or orange sauce that other restaurants use.The new dish: Garlic Crystal Prawns was also very very tasty. The white Wine sauce had the sweetness of the prawns, and the aroma of the white wine and garlics. Thumbs up!

For photos and more reviews, visit http://thelittlemomentsofmylife.blogspot.com (:my favourite dish was the dory with white wine butter and rice ($12.50). the fish was soft and nicely flakey and the sauce, oh-my--gosh. it was lip-smackingly gooooooood! slightly sourish and really really tasty, i absolutely loved it xDthe sirloin steak with french frites and salad ($15) was pretty good too. the taste of beef was slightly strong for my liking, but the meat was tender which was nice. and the horseradish mustard that came with it completely masked the strong taste, and made it absolutely lovely. the fries that came with it were delicious, probably because they were really salty i guess once in a while won't kill! (:the fillet of chicken with cepes and butter rice ($13) was really creamy and cheesy. absolutely rich with flavour, but too overwhelming, in my opinion.i resisted trying the confit de canard with french frites ($16.50) because i wanted to reduce my intake of deep fried food! but i tried the sauce, and it was YUMMY. and according to the rest, the duck had a lovely crispy skin and soft meat, without being too oily. so if you come to this restaurant, go for it! what was impressive at this restaurant was the service! it's a really tiny restaurant, inside only has three tables, and a couple more outside, and the cooking area is right next to the dining area with an open concept. the friendly chef comes out of the kitchen to greet all the guests and to enquire about their meal. i think it's really sweet (:

Visit http://www.dairycream.blogspot.sg/2013/03/la-petite-cuisine-affordable-french.html for moreTheir main outlet at Serene centre has received significantly better reviews than this place and I can finally understand why. Be prepared to receive worse-than-expected service here as the glum-faced servers seemed unhappy to have customers entering their territory. Do not expect them to guide you to your seats or take your orders. Dishes which you can only find here includes this Croissant with Escargots (13.50) which came in a satisfying portion despite being an entree. The fluffy warm bread stuffed with big fat chewy escargots was doused in that delicious mushroom garlic gravy! The idea of croissant with escargots is really a wonderful change to the usual garlic and butter type. I am really curious about the escargots here because they are one of the largest I have tried so far. The Seared tuna steak with onion marmalade (14.50) was Iight dish which my old folks like. But I prefer those with more flavor like the fish from Saveur. The combination of bittersweet onion with fresh slightly raw tuna is quite odd but the wine infused rice was really fluffy and fragrant with accents of cheese. The dessert selection was limited to the familiar Creme brûlée, opera and flourless chocolate cake all ranging between$4-$5. 50 cents cheaper with a main course ordered. Since I know this is my last time, I choose one that is the least common out of the rest. Surprisingly, the chocolate orange mousse cake was rich and outstanding. And at $3.50, it was the best steal of the day.In short, the food especially the croissants escargots is worth trying if you ignore the bad service. If you visit the Serene Centre branch or come here for takeaway, you may be able to maximize the enjoyment of your food more!Visit : www.dairycream.blogspot.sg for more

Setting: A small, intimate indoor setting where you can have a good view of the chefs busy at work. There's a glass panel separating the dining area and the kitchen which the restaurant uses to list its daily specials comprising of soup of the day, appetizers and mains.Reservations: Allowed so do place them. Service: GoodAffordability: Good for french diningFood:-Can't go wrong with the duck confit, costing about S$16.50. The dish gives you a choice on fries or potato gratin - I prefer the gratin. The dish does not have any greens to go along it so if you want a balanced meal, I would suggest to order the salad with foie gras to complement your meal.Butter rice and dory fish costing S$12.50 - fish tasted pretty flat and was not well seasoned. It lacked omph in taste. A year ago, my dining companion tried the beef bourguignon with pasta (a daily special main) which wasn't good at all since pasta does not go well with a stew. Creme Brulee for dessert at S$5.50 was a nice finish to the dinner though they could have torched the sugar a little longer. Still, credit given to the divine egg custard underneath.
