Riverside Indonesian BBQ - Kopitiam

I ordered the Ayam Panggang (Grilled Chicken Set for SGD5.50), which consist of grilled chicken thigh, fried omelette, rice & soup. One special ingredient is their delicious black sauce combination with their big chicken thigh & rice. The Chicken thigh is grilled nicely with the skin crispy and a bit of charred. The meat inside is tender and juicy and when dipped with their sweet & not overly spicy chilli, make my adrenaline rush into my brain. The rice is quite soft & fluffy and they even have curry gravy option to be drenched into the rice! Even though the queue is quite long, however the service is efficient as I waited for around 5mins. This stall always had perpetual long queues during lunch time. The good thing is that the queues move quite fast so the waiting time is not as long. I ordered a grilled chicken set. The set comes with a serving of grilled chicken thigh, egg, cabbage and soup. The chicken thigh is always the highlight of the dish with its tender and moist flesh. The seasoning used was perfect, resulting in the meat being very flavourful. The queue wasn't as scary as it is during peak lunch and dinner hours so I got my piping hot food within 5 minutes. My favorite is definitely the grilled chicken leg because of its special sweet barbecue sauce which they dip the chicken leg to after it's being grilled. the huge chicken leg is full of meat at every bite and its so satisfying. the only downside of the dish is there is not enough curry gravy on the rice and their special ikan bilis chili sauce has reached its bottom and not being refilled. Even though long queue is needed inorder to buy this plate of barberqued chicken rice, but I will never hesitated to do so. The portion is always so generous and the price is very reasonable.My main reason that I do not mind the long queue will be their yummy huge chicken drumstick and their super delicious blachan chilli sauce. Chicken meat is juicy and not tough, and love the dark sauce used to barberque it which is vey tasty and appetitizing. The blachan chilli is kind of sweet, a little bit sour and not too spicy. Usually I will order the chicken set. Gonna try something different and hence ordered the grilled fish set instead. Personally, I feel that the fish set is more value for money than the chicken set as the fish is kinda huge. It also tastes as good as the chicken set, probably due to the bbq sauce which is applied on the fish. Food: I ordered a fish set. The fish set came with rice and chilli, but no vegetables. Veg costs 80cts more. Strange – I thought vegetable is always a complimentary side, must as HPB to intervene with their eat more veg drive! Rice was covered in a coconut - spice sauce, rice yellow colour. The chicken was tasty, probably fresh and BBQed to a crisp with their kecap sauce coating it. The sauce in the other set was also delicious, crunchy and fresh but the fish piece was a let down. I'm having classes later that day around 4pm. I got to Plaza Singapura early to meet my friend for lunchLuckily we got there late and there's only some late lunch crowd around 2plus.I would hate to squeeze with all the working lunch peeps As usual, i would buy from Riverside Indonesian BBQ store if there's not much people.I usually have the grilled chicken but i thought so having the fish since i have more time to spare that day (in case i need to pick out bones)I love the portion from the store. They always give lots of rice with curry sauce, egg and cucumber slice and grilled item with the sauce and their chili to go along with.Firstly i love their curry sauce just with a tinge of spiciness. I don't like it too spicy or it'll lose the taste of curry.As for the chili i think the tinge of spiciness is just nice, makes you keep wanting have it. But take care don't try too huge a mouthful like i did, almost choked by the spiciness.The fish that day was very well done and not that many bones like i anticipated.I love it's grilled skin outside and the freshness of the fish meat.I would really recommend this to guys especially who loves to eat a great big portion. I ordered the BBQ grilled chicken rice from Riverside Indonesian BBQ store in Plaza Singapura. It costs $5.90 for the rice set which comes with some vegetables and egg. This stall has snaking long queues. I waited for around 20 minutes before it was my turn. The chicken set consists of the chicken thigh, fried egg, rice and a bowl of clear soup. I added some vegetables because I wanted some greens in my dish. You can also ask for curry sauce to be drizzled over your rice, but I opted not to this time. Whenever i am at kopitiam or food court, i will always see is there is indonesia grill stall. If yes, without fail, i will always eat from the stall. I love all of their item especiall the chicken and fish. This time i ate the fish set as it is easier to eat. The fish was heated up upon ordering, then drizzle with the black sauce.
