The Katsu Sandwich sold by Romankan Yokohama was similar to Ginza Bairin. Both are packed in a box.The appearance of the Katsu Sandwich sold by Romankan Yokohama looked like a burger with big slice of red tomato and generous of green lettuce and onions. The sandwich had a toasted bread and fried pork fillet aroma. It tasted good and freshy. The bread was crispy on the toasted side and the fried pork fillet inside had many crispy breaded crumbs. The generous amount of vegetable inside gave the sandwich a refreshing and removed the oiliness taste of the pork fillet.

Romankan Yokohama (浪漫館横滨) CafeTakashimaya Food Court, Ngee Ann CityOrchard, SingaporeSeptember 2012http://merlionwayfarer.blogspot.sg/2012/10/not-romantic-katsu.htmlThere was a limited choice of bentos to choose from - Fillet Katsu Bento (S$13) and Ebi Fry Bento (S$16.50) are displayed here, together with add-ons like Fillet Katsu (S$3.40), Ebi Katsu (S$4.20), and Rose Katsu (S$6.70).Merlion Wayfarer chose the Fillet Katsu Bento. The batter was not as flaky as she preferred, and the dish came with fries and rice - too filling for most. A little touch of seaweed or sesame sprinkled atop the rice will be nice.

It was Takashimaya’s pre-Christmas sale weekend. The place was packed with customers. Most of the eateries were filled with dinners, finding a seat wasn’t easy. Couldn’t think too much, I just queued at this stall for my late lunch. Once I placed my order, they would find a seat for me, it eased my worry in finding my seat while dining alone.Furthermore, I like the serving lady’s costume, they dress like a maid-on-wait. This is a place I have been patronising for numerous times. I would return whenever I wanted to have something crispy. So far they have not let me down on food or services. The way they deep fried the breadcrumbs, it is one of the best cutlet in Singapore. Though they are using frozen pork, I am fine with it as my main concern is their crispy breadcrumbs. The shredded cabbage is serving generous portion, it clears the oiliness taste after eating the cutlet. Frankly the whole meal is really big for small diners, I normally combine 2 meals for this big meal. So I would try my best to finish the whole meal. The accompany miso soup is fine too, it isn’t too salty or bland, it is just right. The rest of the ingredients are up to the standard. This is the place I would keep returning.

Was introduced to this great little Japanese restaurant at Takashimaya B2 by my dear friend who loves Japanese food. She told me that the Katsu Curry Rice here is great, even her Japanese friend also agrees that it is authentic. It's located in the food court area, but they have seats set aside for customers of this restaurant. I ordered the Katsu Curry Teisyoku and liked it very much. They gave plenty of curry sauce (I didn't finish the sauce) which was quite smooth and very fragrant. In addition, you can choose your side, either the miso soup or salad, & I chose the salad. They were also generous with the amount of katsu on the plate, which was very crispy! A very full & satisfying meal indeed, for $15.50.

Had an awesomely good meal at Romankan Yokohama! I ordered the Tonkichi Homemade Sandwich which I totally enjoyed every single bite of it! It was a lovely, tender, juicy and wonderful piece of chicken. It is placed between 2 pieces of slightly toasted bread and there is a lot of the Tonkatsu sauce. The sauce is incredible! Very sweet and just makes your sandwich super yummy!
