Tried Sunlife's durian puffs and I must say that I am entranced by the quality as compared to other big players in the market such as Goodwood Park! I absolutely love how pure the durian tasted and how addictive it is to keep popping the puffs in my mouth. Considering that pure durian flesh is used, I feel that it is a good deal at the price the pastry is being sold. Not only that, the crust of the puff is fluffy as well, which makes the chewing process enjoyable. However, I personally feel that the layout of the stall can be improved in order to market the products in a more enticing way. Perhaps the display set can be set up in way in which it will attract customers' attention easily, as compared to the current layout of the stall which causes it to be overlooked quite easily.Lastly, I would like to add that the sales staff is friendly, and responsible by reminding me that it is important to keep the products refrigerated in order to prevent spoilage. The staff also mentioned that although the stall is small, they do cater to events if the order amount is sufficiently large. Perhaps pastry lovers might want to KIV this stall in the event that they require a caterer of delicious pastries. Look forward to having more, thumbs up! 繼續閱讀

I was wandering around the basement of Causeway Point when i caught signt of this shop that were selling mini cream puffs, eclairs and other pastries.I decided to get the mini cream puffs, 3 for $3. There is also another serving portion, 5 for $4.50. The staff did asked me if i wanted to get that, cause they will give one more cream puff for free. But i chose the former as i had dinner earlier. You can choose the kind of cream for your puffs,  chocolate or vanilla and the toppings. There is crushed oreos, strawberry, honey gold flakes, pumpkin seeds, and crushed peanuts. I chose strawberry and it came with chocolate syrup. The cream puff is cold and was quite nice to eat. It feels like it just came out of the fridge. They were very generous with the toppings, evident in the picture. Overall i had say its a nice chilling dessert but quite pricey considering you pay $1 for one cream puff.  繼續閱讀

Sunlife is actually known more for their durian puffs but I am not really that keen on durian so I have never really checked out their little kiosk at Causeway Point. It doesn't really help that their kiosk display usually doesn't showcase lots of goodies to tempt me. But while passing by one day, I spied chocolate eclairs, and on closer look, was overjoyed to also find chocolate pancakes and fondant cakes!Chocolate Pancake ($1.50)This was prepared on the spot so there was a short waiting time for this. The pancake skin was very thin while the chocolate wasn't overly sweet. But due to its small size, it wasn't exactly filling and I thought it was a little pricey for the small size.Mini Chocolate Eclair ($1.30)This was quite decent and the puff pastry and cream was not as bland as some eclairs I've tried before elsewhere. The cream inside was chocolate which was good news for a chocolate lover like me. At $1.30 for two pieces, I found this to be quite reasonable!Chocolate Fondant Cake ($1.50) This looked somewhat jelly-like but still held together quite well in spite of me shaking it around. The chocolate had a slightly hardened edge which then gradually developed into a somewhat custard-like chocolate lava in the middle. I was also surprised to find a slightly crumbly tart base which made it felt a little like a chocolate tart. The items are actually quite small here but I supposed these are to be expected considering its price. While not as fancy or decadent as other higher end or higher priced cakes elsewhere, I think they are still decent enough to have as an occasional light treat. If you are not a durian fan, you can give the chocolate fondant cake or pancake a try. The small size actually works for me on occasions when I just want a small piece of dessert! 繼續閱讀

JX has bought a box of durian puffs from the Sunlife at Causeway Point Shopping Mall. There is a on going promotion for durian puffs with 20 pieces costing $10, which means a puff costs $0.50. Considering it is quite a great deal as the puffs are filled with real durian flesh, not durian flavoured paste. One can smell the durian smell from far without opening the box. Yummy. Filling tastes great but choux pastry still has room for improvement as I feel that it not crisp enough. 繼續閱讀
