There were simply too many eating place for breakfast as Toa Payoh is surrounded with a lot of eating places. Headed to Gourmet Paradise which was located at the basement of HDB Hub which would have normally gone unnoticed to people like me who seldom visit Toa Payoh. I only came to know about Gourmet Paradise because of its well known Rojak that was located just right beside the escalator. I was rather surprised that most stalls had started their business day and thought it was quite unusual for food court. I looked around for something suitable as breakfast and ordered white Bee Hoon as the main with mock Char Siew, mixed vegetables and fried egg. Green chilli was added upon request while red chilli was available at the counter. As it was in the morning about 9 plus, items were readily available and were cooked fresh with "clanging" noises from the kitchen. There was also a constant flow of customers in the queue and the lady was rather fast to serve.Overall, breakfast was enjoyable with ample of seatings available.Cost: $3

I have always kept my head out for good, reasonable vegetarian food. One of my best finds was the vegetarian stall at Toa Payoh hub. I must say that the food here is one of the best. They have a huge variety of vegetarian mains and sides and prices are very reasonable!Came here for lunch with a friend. Opted for the brown rice as a main. I had leafy vegetables, fried yew tiao, tofu and curry. The vegetables were fresh and well cooked, the yew tiao was crispy and tasted sweet, tofu was tender and curry was mildly spicy. The food was served hot which is always a big bonus for me!4/5
