It took me at least 20 minutes to locate this restaurant, hidden inside the Feast Kopitiam. That's probably cause I don't usually go to Jurong Point and the two buildings confuse me, but the average passerby would've missed it as well. I learnt about Malioboro from a friend and I was immediately attracted to the interesting "soft bone" concept. I enjoy visiting new places and trying special things, so this was one of those I couldn't skip. The restaurant wasn't packed and the staff attended to us

The restaurant wasn't packed and the staff attended to us promptly. We were recommended the Salted Egg Sauce to accompany the amazing Soft Bone Chicken. I was delighted by the plating, the crackers and the cone shaped rice (it looks nicer on photographs!). Honestly, I'm not a salted egg fan, but I felt that the salted egg sauce actually went quite well with the chicken, giving it flavour without actually being too salty. The main highlight of the night was of course the Soft Bone Chicken, which was what got me interested in this restaurant in the first place. I tore the chicken apart quite easily to share with the others and it tasted good, the tender meat and the crispy skin (which was made a little soggy by the salted egg sauce, but this was forgivable considering how great everything else was). The meat was soon gone and we were left with the bones on the plate, unsure about whether to go for it. The curious side of me finally succumbed (to the pressure of the others) and I tried the bone. It was... chewable, but it tasted kinda funny, although that was probably because my mind knew I was eating something weird. We didn't polish the plate in the end though, but it was as clean as it could get.

If there was anything to complain about (and I'm just being picky here), more crackers would have been good and the soup was kinda on the salty side.

We actually only ordered one of the dish because we already had our dinner and was here simply to try the chicken, and we kinda regretted having dinner before going to the restaurant. It's a hidden gem in Jurong and we vowed to go back again soon.
