Retro cafe with lovely pastries to bring you back to the young days....I popped over during lunchtime, cafe was rather empty (which was great, because a quiet place for lunch was certainly what I needed after a hectic half day at work) and nice oldie song was playing in the background...Had their traditional kaya/butter toast , eggs with teh set and a muffin. The teh was milky and aromatic, just the kind I like. I could smell the nice smell when I was still eating my muffin.. =) I love it that

I love it that they the bread was in the normal Loaf bread slice. I often had difficulty finishing the 4 pieces toast at normal Kaya toasts cafe. This serving was just nice. The bread was crisp on the outside, kaya and butter was at its right amount. Not too little nor overpowering.
A little overcooked IMO, but no complains.
The muffin had a very old school taste to it. Maybe it was the cream that they used, it's a little oily, thick and sweet. I could barely taste the sweetness of my Teh after eating this muffin. The cake was a little hard yet moisy at the same time. Good for sharing as it may be too much for 1 pax.Lovely comfort food that reminds me of Mom and the pastries u used to buy from the neighbourhood cake shops on yr way back home from school... =)
