It was my first time being brought to Dempsey area outside PS cafe, and it's my cousin's favorite places to get his Indian fix. It was a little family gathering and I tagged along. Boy, was it packed on a Sunday night around 8PM! It was really full, so from there I felt like OK, this must be a really good place to eat! Was excited cos of my hunger, and after a while, being a full house, it was hard to get the person to reach to your table and finally order. So my cousin ordered a variety from ch
Was excited cos of my hunger, and after a while, being a full house, it was hard to get the person to reach to your table and finally order. So my cousin ordered a variety from chicken, potato patties, vegetables... and the rice was a must, briyani.
I was surprise for them to only pass up banana leaves in front of me to each person then the spoon and fork that came along later.
Masala tea as my drink came after that, and it took a while for the rice-man, which was the guy who brought rice. Basically at an up to you buffet, he'll ask you is the rice enough? and Add more if not. It's not in a portion, but like you can ask for more and more. It took a long while until our orders are served, then the sauce man came along, asking if you want gravy and pickles, and "if it's enough?"
So, it was a new style of eating this Indian way of being served one by one. And you can have some more if you are not full enough. I had my big share cos my cous ordered too much main course oh goodness but the authentic taste was there.
Place is overly crowded and outdoors, and the stall looks like the usual little india kind of stall so hygiene-wise it's not restaurant ala dempsey standard just to say! Finally after the whole round I heard that the price is so ex - have they gone up, I don't know - for this dinner so gotta prepare quite a sum for an indian feast!
