Oyster Cake has always been a personal favorite but this snack is not so commonly available, i have only known of 3 places selling it. One of them is along Jalan Besar, the second is at Amoy Street Food Centre and the third one is Maxwell Fuzhou Oyster Cake. I have been eating here for quite a few times but their standard has not been quite consistent. Sometimes, they tend to over fried it and it turned out to have a little bitter taste and the texture tends to be a little harder. So a good lesson learnt is to skip it if the color seemed a little too dark.
The normal one is at $1.50 and with oyster is at $2.00. I always paid the extra and go with the oyster as i believe oyster cake is not quite a oyster cake if omit the oysters.
I went today but was a little hesitating in getting it as those ready fried oyster cakes seemed a little too dark in color. After contemplating, i still went ahead. The Oyster Cake ended up tasted pretty alright, other than a little too oily.
Nonetheless, it still left me feeling lucky for the rest of the day.
