I remember this stall well. They used to be featured on a TV programme and reported by newspaper as well. I remember there was a long queue when i was in this food centre back then. And, that was a few years ago.I did not spot a queue this time. One of the Aunties seated at the table right in front of the stall and chatted with her regular customers. I did not spot a queue this time. One of the Aunties seated at the table right in front of the stall and chatted with her regular customers. When she spotted me taking picture of her stall, she came over quickly and removed those items she placed on the shelf right in front. She said those items are going to make the stall not so presented in the picture. I can sense the pride she has for her stall.
The auntie quickly cut the cucumber, pineapple and turnip followed by the tau pok and you tiao together with prawn paste then scattered a handful of beansprouts. She mixed them well. She topped with a good amount of grounded peanuts before served it on a disposable plate with sticks.
I brought it to my table. I tried the pineapple first then the cucumber and turnips. The cucumber has lots its crunchiness. The pineapple did not taste too fresh as well. I tasted the tau pok and you tiao. It has got a rather slight crispiness. I guess the tau pok and you tiao were toasted but lost bit of crispiness after left it for a while.
The taste of prawn paste was not as dominating as expected.
I guess this rojak has lost its glory. It might used to be good in the past but its standard did not get to maintain.
This is going to be the only experience.
