The bf works at centrepoint and I have heard him rave non-stop about the Japanese eateries in Cuppage for months on end. This particular outlet--Gyoza no Ohsho has a very authentic japanese layout with counter seats and few tables, a little bit like the kind you see in Tokyo where busy office workers basically just eat and leave. The place sells an assortment of fried rice, gyozas and ramen and are known for great tasting food at affordable prices.

The bf comes here every monday to take their bento set for take away and the shop has different lunch sets each day. The day we went, it was offering a fried rice set with fried chicken and 3 gyoza on the side and another bowl of ramen, all for $11 nett! I didnt really want ramen initially but had wanted to order the gyoza and fried chicken but realised this was probably the better option for variety. If you follow my blog kopidiem.wordpress.com you would know how we love Japanese food and I can vouch for the quality of gyoza and chicken karage here. Its really the best we ever had in Singapore! The gyoza has a very juicy and fragrant filling, size is just nice and i really love how one side is pan-fried to perfection without it being oily at all. The same goes for the chicken, its fried yet you do not get the oil in the mouth taste at all... you don't even feel sinful eating it! lol.

However, if you had to choose a main I would rather you take the fried rice than the ramen. I find the ramen very forgettable (shio and shoyu ramen tasted almost similar) but the fried rice is fragrant with a small pieces of meat and lots of eggs in it. I would love to just go there for a full 2 servings of gyoza!
