FoodA simple meal set A which originally costs $4.50 but instead of the coffee/tea they provide, I have requested to change it to Tea "C" and it costs me additional of $0.20 which sums up to $4.70. Set A consists of 2 slices of kaya toast, 1 beverage and 2 soft boil eggs. Boiling soft boil eggs are not easy, one must really catch the timing in order to get such perfect soft boiled stuff else the eggs have to sent to the bin! The black sauce and pepper can be added by customers to suit their taste.
Ya Kun has built its reputation over the years and everyone knows that they have great kaya toasts! Their toasts are cripsy to a standard to such a perfection that there is less or little effort in biting the bread. Together with the cup of tea "c", it really brings up the style of a Singaporean way of breadfast!
ServiceCounter will take our service and bread will be served shortly by order. Counter auntie is polite and cheery which makes usually makes a dull morning turns bright.
Ambience
Even due to the rush hours in the morning but many of us still believe that breakfast is an important meal and that's why we get to see at least 80% full in Ya Kun during the weekdays morning.
Price
Due to its branding and market positioning, I can understand that price are quite steep that is why I will only pamper myself with such breakfast once in a blue moon.
