Tucked in the lush enclave of Rochester Park surrounded by greenery littered with Colonial-style houses, 1-Caramel is tucked on the second floor of a mansion owned by One Rochester Group. Since it was wet and cold outside, i found peace and serenity by sipping on a piping hot Fruit Mountain Tea ($6.80) which is brewed with black tea and an ecstasy of golden Asian fruits. The tea is refreshing to the mind and leaves a sweet aftertaste which livened up my spirits. It’s a perfect cup of tea for me as I love something light and sweet on a warm, relaxing evening as the raindrops tapped on the window panes.
Who says that indulging on desserts must be sinful? You can still do so with this Carrot Walnut Cake ($5.00/slice) which is topped with California walnuts and cream cheese frosting. I love how the cream cheese and walnuts compliment so well with the delectable moist carrot cake which got me addicted to it after a while. The lovely taste of this Carrot Walnut Slice was very memorable for me.
Look at the decadent slice of Chocolate Praline Cake ($7.90/slice), who is able to resist the temptation of it? This is 1-Caramel’s signature with layers of chocolate mousse and hazelnut feuilletine. I enjoyed this wonderful slice of delightful cocoa slice with glee as it hit my soft spot for dark chocolate. This is definitely a masterpiece and for you cocoa lovers out there, you have no reason to give this a miss.With so many different cakes and gourmet tea to choose from, looks like I’ll be visiting 1 Caramel once again for another tea time treat! Oh, they do have some tea time promotion too! Sounds like a great idea to have a leisure good time in afternoon with a relaxing view of the surrounding greenery with sweet dessert treats!
