Unpretentiously located in the Hougang heartlands, it is a hidden gem as it offers value-for-money cakes that rival the quality of those found in cafes of up-class shopping malls.Ispahan ($5.80):Layers of rose bavarian cream and raspberry mousse with a lychee gelee middle and lychee fruit. Ispahan ($5.80):
Layers of rose bavarian cream and raspberry mousse with a lychee gelee middle and lychee fruit. So dainty-looking. The light rose cream melted in my mouth naturally.. The lovely scent and taste of rose was accentuated by the sweet/sour raspberry mousse. The lychee gelee was a refreshing surprise in the middle of the cake. And it was topped with something like caramelized bits but they tasted of rose. It was a beautiful experience. My favorite from Ciel Patisserie!
Strawberry shortcake ($5.60):
Lightly sweetened whipped cream and strawberries. The sponge was airy and the strawberries were fresh. But my favorite version is still the one from Canele.
Fuji ($5.20):
A light green tea mousse complimented with a lychee gelee insert and a soft green tea sponge base. A creative and cute cake designed by Ciel Patisserie..Loved the green tea mousse which was soft and melts in the mouth. The sweet-bitterness of green tea was balanced by the refreshing lychee gelee in the core of the mountain. Also my favorite!
Scarlet ($5.60):
Ciel Patisserie's rendition of cheesecake. There was a red fruit gelee in the centre. This was really creamy.. I am not a big fan of cheesecakes, but I think all cheesecake lovers should give it a try because every bite delivered a strong cheese taste.
