Yi Jia Le is located within walking distance in my neighborhood and is quite crowded at most weekends.FoodDue to that everyone is celebrating Mother's day on the weekend. The place is overcrowded and chefs could not manage the turnover. Initially I wanted to have some standard Zhi Cha Food like hor fun and fried bee hoon but I was per-warned by the lady that I have to wait 45minutes up to an hour for the food. And she had given me the alternatives on the menu to save up the waiting time and that

Due to that everyone is celebrating Mother's day on the weekend. The place is overcrowded and chefs could not manage the turnover. Initially I wanted to have some standard Zhi Cha Food like hor fun and fried bee hoon but I was per-warned by the lady that I have to wait 45minutes up to an hour for the food. And she had given me the alternatives on the menu to save up the waiting time and that is to order the stated food.
I have no choice but to order those recommended dishes with shorter waiting time as my parents were quite hungry and were waiting at home.
8 Treasures chicken was well prepared earlier in the afternoon and that is why it will be faster upon ordering. The whole chicken was wrapped in aluminum foil. Not very strong in flavour but the herbal soup base goes well with the plain rice.
Cost: S$28.00
Flavorful Xi Yang Cai Tang (Watercress Soup) being stored in big container. Abit oily but bearable as it watercress is has vitamin A and C as well as vitamin K. Portion is rather generous with alot of vegetables and pork ribs at the bottom.Cost: S$12.00
ServiceService is rather mess up. Too many staff attend to one customer. Apparently the lady at the counter could not handle the incoming stress from the customers and keep directing the customers to other staff even though she was the one who took the order. Thumbs down for the service.
Ambience
A messy environment with lots of customers coming up to the ordering counter with impatient looks.
Price
Prices are reasonable.
Recommendation / Tips
Although its strategically located within my foot steps, I never visit them for more than thrice a year. Their zhi char maybe better than average but if you have the chance, do avoid their standard items like Hor Fun, Fried bee hoon, etc.
