Jones The Grocer was among the first few cafes in Singapore to popularize the concept of brunch, and it's still going strong today, as evident by the long queues on weekends.
Jones The Grocer has the ambience of a gourmet grocery store with a modern and casual cafe. It's really appealing to walk in and immediately be greeted by the sight of fresh produce, cheeses and meats, and the scent of bread and cheese. The entire store has a very homely, comforting feel... You wouldn't feel out of place if you wore slippers, shorts and a t-shirt here!
I find the service at Jones The Grocer to be excellent. Staff will greet you before seating you, and despite the long queues, the line moves rather quickly. Waiting time is about 15 minutes or less, thanks to the well-handled seat staggering arrangements.
Thumbs up for their handling of unexpected situations! When a customer next to us accidently knocked over a pitcher of water, our seat got wet as well. Staff handled the clean up quickly and efficiently, and even apologised to us despite the situation not being their fault.
Specialties at Jones The Grocer include their coffee, cheeses, breads and cakes. Because they use premium ingredients, without any artificial preservatives or colouring, their food tastes really fresh and flavourful. Of course, this all comes at a price, so dining at Jones The Grocer isn't cheap... But you do get what you pay for in terms of quality food and good service. I would definitely recommend dining at Jones The Grocer!
Essentially a chocolate danish, the Pain Au Chocolate (SGD $4.50) has a yummy flaky pastry crust which shatters when bit. While there isn't much chocolate filling within, it's still pretty good quality chocolate, and not overly sweet or bitter.

One of the specialties here is the coffee, and a sip of this Latte (SGD $5) will show the pride they have in their coffee. Aromatic, full bodied and strong... Just the way I like it!

The Hot Chocolate (SGD $6) is among one of the densest I've had. While rich, the thick chocolate tends to collect at the bottom of the cup, and it also settles more quickly than others, meaning before each mouthful, vigourous stirring is required.

The Fresh Herb Omelette With Smoked Salmon & Goat's Cheese (SGD $22) features a soft, fluffy egg omelette, cooked well. Stuffed liberally with salty smoked salmon, and sour goat's cheese, the flavour of this dish is intense! Perhaps too intense on the sourness, toning it down slightly may have made this more palpable. Some salad would have helped as well, as the overall dish is very light for its price.

The Cinnamon French Toast (SGD $18) is served with mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries) and vanilla creme fraiche. A sweet and filling breakfast, the toast is good enough on its own, but paired with the fruity, tart berries, and smooth, creamy creme fraiche, make this dish a winner. Excellent!
